The Borjomi spring in Borjomi, Georgia.

This glass and steel pergola sits over two spigots of the famous Borjomi natural spring water.

Discovered thousands of years ago, but popularized during the Russian imperial period, the mineral waters of Borjomi became renowned for their healing qualities.

Russian figures such as Chekhov and Tchaikovsky visited Borjomi to relax in sanatoriums and drink the water. During the Soviet period, bottled Borjomi water became one of the Soviet Union's chief exports.

If you travel to Borjomi, you can visit a central park and drink the warm water as it drips out of a spigot. You travel to this area, descend some steps, and fill your cups or bottles with the water.

Entrance to the park is free before 9 AM - it costs fifty tetri the rest of the day. Grabbing some water for the day is a good excuse for an early morning rise.

« Nous avons passé trois jours dans ce magnifique hôtel, les personnes à l’accueil parlent anglais et le lieu est magnifique. Nous avons pu profité du spa (privé, il faut demander un créneau) trois fois 1h30 pendant notre séjour. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est génial (nous l’avons seulement eu 2 matins sur 3, j’imagine que le premier jour étant en décembre l’hôtel n’était pas assez rempli pour le proposer). Possible de profiter du restaurant le soir (la brochure disait jusqu’à 23 mais il fermait...

« Beautiful new hotel in Bakuriani. Clean large rooms, friendly and helpful staff (excellent English), easy location walkable to many restaurants and shops for snacks if needed. Very nice rooms with great views of the mountain (stayed in #503), parking included. Coffee and water in room was greatly appreciated. « the hotel is conveniently located in a walkable area and well designed. the staff is friendly. we ordered the hotel specifically since it had a spa. however, it did not operate in our 2 day stay and we were not informed in advance or during our stay. only when we asked we were told that it's in renovation. we asked if there was any arrangement with another hotel so we can use their facilities as a courtesy. the front desk manager tried to help and updated that we can visit a neighbor hotel sap...
