  • Come see, play and stay at beautiful Lake Bomoseen, Vermont's largest lake!! When you stay here at our beautifully curated, renovated cottage you will enjoy your inside experience as much as your outdoor experience. Grand on a tiny scale. Our home is unique, warm and elegant, fully equipped, yet still evolving. The property itself imperfect, but nestled into a cliff with a sweet firepit which offers wonderful views and privacy. From almost every room, beautiful lake views. Although a stretch, one of the reasons we bought this quirky property was because it reminded us of our travels to the Amalfi coast: steep cliffs, fast cars and a short trek to the water....IYKYK.

    Our home is well situated. It has lake access, a private dock and two kayaks for your enjoyment (must wear life jackets). ( Dock is not set up for motor boats) Its walking distance to the LakeHouse Restaurant and Crystal Beach, a mile from the Taproom at LB Restaurant and Neshobe Beach. A kayak ride from all of those as well as Bomoseen State Park. 7 minutes to the town of Castleton, 10 minutes to the train station, 20 minutes to Rutland, 30 minutes to Middlebury, 40 minutes to both Killington and Okemo/Jackson Gore ski areas. Or as we say in Vermont right around the corner.

    There are daily and weekly boat and jet ski rentals available (boating license required) at the Woodard Marina located right on LB.

    For those looking for other Vermonty adventures, there are: local farms, golfing, wineries, hiking, biking, horseback riding, berry picking, theatre, art, funky random museums and rail trails.

We loved everything about this property. It was so cozy and inviting the moment we walked in. This is one of the most relaxing stays we’ve ever had. The views of the lake early morning and in the evening were stunning! Gary was very responsive and a complete pleasure to deal with.

The cottage was the perfect setting for our anniversary getaway to bike the Slate Valley Trails. We appreciated having a comfortable space to come back to and enjoyed using the dock and kayaks in the later afternoons and evenings. The lake sunsets were beautiful! Although we didn't cook at the cottage, the kitchen was well stocked and felt like home. Bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the local restaurants which were a close walk or drive, and we were about 15 minutes from Poultney and the trail system we came to enjoy. Loved this find!

The house was very nice and had a great private boat dock and a wonderful fire pit area. We really enjoyed our stay and had a great visit.The only downside was the highway between the house and the dock. Traffic moves quickly along the road, and pulling out of the driveway can be a little challenging at times. Other than that, we had a great experience and enjoyed our time at the property.

Wonderful cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lake Bomoseen Cottage. Beautifully decorated, luxurious linens and towels, well-stocked kitchen, and lots of tiny details considered. Will definitely stay here again!

We had a great three night stay - the cottage was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The owners have clearly put much thought into furnishing and decorating; everything was first rate. We are looking forward to a return trip.

Very clean and had all the essentials! Beds are very soft and comfortable. We enjoyed using the 2 kayaks but you do need to cross a semi busy road, walk down it a little and hop over the guardrail to get to the dock. Sunsets were absolutely stunning. Nice neighboring towns nearby to visit :)

Beautiful Lakeside Cabin

We felt so lucky to be able to stay here! The property is so well taken care of, and the hosts were incredibly responsive. We loved the decor and coziness of the place, and being able to see the lake from the house was lovely. Swimming off the dock, kayaking, and fishing were highlights for us.

Great location with fantastic sunset views! Our check in was easy and Greg and Domenica went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with some flowers and chocolates to help us celebrate our anniversary getaway!The cottage is nicely decorated and comfortable with all the amenities. The close location to several local eateries was a bonus!We took advantage of the kayaks on the private dock and enjoyed some fishing and gorgeous sunsets. Truly a Vermont gem!

Very cozy little place! Amazing views of the lake and very close to the restaurants on the lake. Place was very clean, comfortable beds and everything you need was there. My only suggestion would be a coffee maker. The drip style one there did not work well and by the time it made coffee it was cold. Other than that the owner was awesome to work with and will definitely stay there again!

Everything about this rental process and our stay exceeded our expectations. Wonderful beds and linens, comfortable furniture, records. So many nice touches. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. Everything was very clean and we enjoyed the complimentary coffee and treats. Great location, quiet, and a beautiful view of the lake from the cottage. Hosts were super responsive and helpful. I loved reading about what previous guests had enjoyed during their stay in the welcome book in the cottage. It spurred ideas for us. We look forward to visiting again.

Great time at the lake!

One of the best homes we have stayed in. All the amenities needed and additional touches such as a few snacks supplied, firewood, and a variety of albums for every taste. What a nice home! The lake is beautiful, and we spent a lot of time kayaking. We ate at the Blue Cat which was very good, and the diner across the street from it is also very good. The owners of this home were very responsive. A wonderful time away!

The perfect getaway on the lake

What a great property! It was beautiful, clean, and stocked with everything you may need. Having access to the dock and the kayaks was really the cherry on top. The decor was lovely and we really enjoyed the record player that was accompanied by a great assortment of vinyls. Communication was prompt and the checkin process was seamless. Looking forward to returning next summer!

Wedding at Lake Bomoseen

We rented this house for a weddding just down the steeet at the Bomosseen Lodge. The wedding party stayed at the Lodge, but we preferred a house. It is very close to the venue, less than a mile away. The house was very neat and well appointed with everthing we could ask for. Including a nice private dock with comfortable chairs to relax lakeside. Very easy to access the home and great directions and communication from the owner We plan on returning to the lake and would absolutely stay here again. Great Location!!

The cottage was very lovely, everything was perfect. The only problem we had was with Route 30. Very dangerous and noisy. Not the fault of the owners, but people may want to know about this area of concern.

Idyllic Lakeside Retreat

We had such a lovely stay at the cottage! Thank you to the owners who thought of everything. From the extra comfy beds and bath linens, to the cute beach bag and towels, to the neatly organized wood and kindling for the fire pit, our stay was completely relaxing. The home was spotless and the decor pleasant. We loved ending our nights playing DJ, spinning the hits from the broad catalog of records available. What a great idea to share your record player with your guests! As if all of this weren't enough, the private dock (and kayaks) truly made our time special. The sunset and lake views were utterly serene and exactly what we needed to really decompress this week.

House is cute and well appointed. The access area and getting the keys was full of cobwebs as was the rooms in the property. The access to the lake is down the fairly steep drive to a busy road that circumnavigate the lake which you cross and climb over the metal street barrier in order to get to the lake And dock area. We found it to be challenging and less than safe. The listing states a walk to the restaurant, but there is no walkway/sidewalk and I would highly recommend not walking on this road to get to the restaurant. When we arrived, there was a smell as if an animal died in the walls.IYKYK the screen doors for front and back doors were a design I have never seen before, but requires some getting used to. Why not just have a regular screen door? We did not stay for our whole booking due to the smell.
