« Road noise, even with ear plugs, was a lot. Did not like having thermostat control. Host was responsive to remote temperature change request. The curtains and lack of curtains allow in too much light from passing cars and the sun. The bed was smaller than I expected. However it was mentioned in the description. The home itself was very beautiful and cozy. Nice view. Loved the books and board games available in the home. You can tell the host takes pride in their property. »

Rental properties can feel like a gamble sometimes with mattress quality, but the owners of the Spofford Lodge spared no expense to furnish their rooms with high quality items. « We had a good stay at this property. House was generally clean but in need of updates and TLC. New mattresses would be good. Property is definitely off the beaten path which was a little hard to find after dark when we arrived. We did see deer eating apples from the tree each morning which was great. We also enjoyed using the fire pit one evening. Property is a decent location to Acadia and Bar Harbor if you don’t mind driving off the main road a bit. With a party of 3 couples wanting 3...
