  • Situé à seulement 1,6 km de Main Street, de Blowing Rock et de Blue Ridge Parkway, le Bear Bungalow offre un confort ultime, tout en étant niché dans un bosquet de rhododendrons pour une intimité totale.

    Les invités sont accueillis par deux ours, "Beulah" et "Buford", sculptés à la main dans le pin ponderosa occidental par l'artiste Chris Smart. La porte d'entrée est en châtaignier vermifuge indigène. Le bungalow a été créé par un designer professionnel pour offrir à ses clients une expérience environnementale "clé en main" unique.

    La pièce à vivre comprend un foyer au bois (bois de chauffage limité fourni) et un système de divertissement DVD / CD / AM / FM avec son surround Bose et téléviseur HD 32 ". Une sellerie en cuir décontractée, des couleurs et des tissus assortis, des sols en ardoise, des tables en bois massif et des tables de bout "ours en hibernation" complètent le mobilier. La cuisine entièrement équipée comprend des armoires en érable massif, un comptoir en granite à surface solide, un éclairage d'appoint et un plan de travail en surface solide pour un nettoyage facile.

    Les chambres à coucher sont équipées d'un lit King dans une chambre et d'une reine dans l'autre avec la salle de bain entre les deux. Des télévisions avec télécommande avec lecteurs VHS et DVD intégrés sont fournies dans les deux chambres (pas de câble dans la chambre Queen).

    Franchissez les portes françaises pour vous rendre sur une grande terrasse privée et profitez du bain à remous Hot Springs, du gril à gaz et des coins salon. Ou promenez-vous dans la cour arrière clôturée et détendez-vous et profitez de l'atmosphère de montagne.

    Le chemin de fer Tweetsie est à seulement 6 km, la montagne de ski des Appalaches à 8 km, et l’ASU et Boone à 15 km. Le centre-ville de Blowing Rock est à seulement 1,5 km. S'il vous plaît noter que cette maison a plus de dix marches pour accéder au niveau principal.

The house was cute and close to Blowing Rock and Boone. The fence for the yard goes around back of house and nice area and provides privacy from neighbors but doesn't have a gate on the front, not a big deal but have to keep pets on leash.

the TV's where not on a cable host or sat streaming apps worked but its a lot of work a pre set of apps like netflix or a free service would have made it easy

This was perfect for our small family of 3 to come visit big brother at app state. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Enjoyed the hot tub as well!

We loved staying at the Bear Cottage! Awesome location, close to downtown and The Tweetsie railroad. The house was clean and adorable - our toddler especially loved all the stuffed bears in her room!

Location is perfect! Cozy woodsy cabin close to Blowing Rock and Blue Ridge Pkwy. We loved all of it!

Great property, just as advertised. A bit hard to find, perhaps a sign at the fork on Sunrise would be helpful. Great location though!

Nice get away

We enjoyed our stay in Bear Bungalow. It was in a great location, the hot tub was nice, bed was comfy, kitchen well stocked. We loved seeing deer roaming around eating the apples. It was a fabulous weekend!

Nice Quiet Cabin

Location was great. Simple check in. Clean and cozy. Hot tub was ready when we got there. No complaints or surprises and management was responsive and gave us all the information we needed well before check-in. Would stay again.

Private setting

This cabin was great for a secluded getaway. It was older but well maintained. Hot tub was about the same. This property is advertised as dog friendly but you can’t have dogs greater than 15lbs and fenced in yard isn’t completely fenced in, which is not super helpful for letting the dogs out to run. Overall a good property and great location. Would stay here again

Nice cabin in the woods

This home is well maintained and cozy. It was a nice weekend getaway for my husband and I. The hot tub was a nice added bonus. The 2 things I would change would be to have a fire pit in the backyard and a working fireplace inside (a gas fireplace would be lovely!). Other than that, it was a very comfortable home with all the amenities needed.

Nice little cottage

Quiet, feels secluded, even though is actually 1/2 mile from businesses like Food Lion. Well stocked. Having a washer dryer was convenient. The only real downside is the 15 or so stairs to climb from the parking area. You park a full story below the cottage. Nice, otherwise.

A Blessing

The bear theme is well done inside and outside. Very clean housekeeping, but a neglect of a few minor maintenance items made it four star. Nice, fairly secluded neighborhood with good access to Blowing Rock shopping. Accessing the cabin is a bit challenging. The road is steep, narrow and partly unpaved. The stair up to the porch is steep and rough. Overall it is a great, fun place.

Not bad, not quite all good

Two reasons to book. Fenced yard...yes, but no gate to close off area completely. Hot tube...must have been somewhere between 70 and 80 degrees on arrival. Was eventually "warm" the next day. Never got near "hot". Otherwise the place was clean and comfortable. A short drive to Blowing Rock itself.

Good, bad a d ugly

Interior was decent and very clean. Exterior maintenace bad. Ice covered all the steps going up to entrance and front of landing. After telling Proprty Mngmnt 2nd day with conversations going into 4th day. I gave up and we shoveled the steps. Nothing was done by Property Mngmnt. Also there was dog poop on side deck along with branches and twigs and the hot tub was unstrapped, branches/twigs which were also on cover of hot tub. After I cleaned it off I opened the top(it was unstraped) and there were a few leaves in bottom. This leads me to believe the chemicals were probably not kept up so as much as I wanted to use the hot tub I felt the water was probably not clean enough. Exterior maintenance was basically non existent. Property Management did nothing to correct the situation.

Nice Place, Rough Start with Management

We would stay again. Place was incredibly clean, newly reno(?) & well appointed. Hot tub worked great and was ready for us when we arrived. Would be nice if fenced backyard had a light and gate, but nice to have dog with us. Fireplace, frig, kitchen… everything spotless and made us feel comfortable. Front lamppost was not working, so coupled with dark (steep) backyard, bring a flashlight (although I think they had one). Chairs on front porch for view were okay, but nice rockers would be great. The bear theme, right down to carved bear pillars and furniture were spectacular. Small but Cozy as advertised The only thing preventing 5 stars was our early encounter with management (Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals). They only use VRBO for initial contact. They then hound you rather harshly for signed contract; inundate you with automated emails and paperwork designed for ALL properties, (eg, “IF you have lockbox, hot tub, dog…); over-lawyered disclaimers; threatened to cancel reservation if not pay within 24 hours of notice … even though our pmt/contact info on VRBO - which had different invoice?!. When confronted, mgt denounced VRBO and AirBNB saying we should read fine print. Poor first impressions and customer service, especially the large volume, cookie cutter, sloppy communications approach. The local staff on arrival seemed much better. The heat struggled on a cold night, but emergency heat worked great that night and trip, and tech was sent next day to ensure okay. The firewood we prepaid for was not there on arrival, but they brought it (plus extra) the next day. The fire starters that come with wood are okay, but advise you bring some Duraflame logs to avoid constantly stoking or restarting fire. Yes, they had large fire lighter; nice, thanks! Special thanks to Jessica who was responsive and very pleasant to work with. We tried to stay extra night at discount as they advertise, but someone beat us to it. Fair enough. Location is good. Not top notch neighborhood and camper/trucks parked behind you. But location at end of street, plus evergreen shrubbery gives you plenty of privacy. While maybe only 1.5 miles from downtown shops (which are wonderful — eat at Speckled Trout!), it’s too hilly to hike unless young and don’t plan to haul back a lot of goodies! Moderate view from front porch. Pleasant but not breathtaking. Again, we would visit again. Just wiser and ready for robo-booking/confirm process.

Beary cute cabin

Cute and convenient. We had had a young whitetail buck visit us one morning. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Definitely would recommend ❤️
