À propos de cet hébergement
Persimmon Cottage | Bright, Clean Petite Modern 1 BR/1 Bath Home
- Inspired by the persimmon tree in the front yard, Persimmon Cottage is a bright, clean petite modern 1 BR/1 Bath home. Its clever, compact design flows from the entry thru the full kitchen, into the cozy living/dining space, and finally to the bedroom tucked at the back. A twin-plus futon in the living area is a flexible sleeping option for an extra guest. Fully functional mini-bath features a shower and floating sink. The covered back porch is a nice spot for morning coffee or evening wine.
Just blocks from downtown and a scenic walk to IU’s Sample Gates, this light-filled cottage blends character with modern comforts in a location that puts Bloomington’s best right outside your door.

— The Details —
This compact but comfy gem has everything you need, nothing you don't. With a no-step shower entry and a paved path to the door, it is wheelchair-friendly.
At the back of the house, a well-lit reading and office alcove offers a more private place to work or unwind after a day exploring campus and downtown. This space is especially appreciated by remote workers and longer-stay guests.
The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday cooking.
Off-street driveway parking for two vehicles makes coming and going easy. Note that access to the driveway is via the alley behind the house. In the event of heavy snow, the city does not plow the alley, and the driveway may not be accessible, so guests may need to find on street parking.
📍 Unbeatable Location
• Blocks from downtown restaurants, cafés, shops, and breweries
• Pleasant walk to IU’s Sample Gates
• Bus stop right across the street
• Easy access to the B-Line Trail
• Located on Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington’s historic Prospect Hill neighborhood
You’ll be close to everything — right in the heart of Bloomington’s energy — while still enjoying a cozy place to retreat at the end of the day.
— Why We’re Different —
• Walk-to-everything convenience for campus, dining, and nightlife
• Sleek, modern style with natural light, warm textures and colors
• Wheelchair friendly entry, interior, and shower - rare for a home in historic neighborhood
• Dedicated office/reading alcove at the back of the house for privacy

• The foundation of the home is on the old canal that once ran through the city. Many houses in Prospect Hill are circa 1900. The owner is in the process of researching and compiling a brief history.
