The Loft at Brooklinn Mill, stunning riverside apartment in converted mill

Brooklinn Mill is a superb place to spend a holiday. The building is the former store building of a converted 19th Century jute mill, packed with original features and real character.

The Loft occupies the top floor of the store building of a former jute mill. It is a totally self-contained apartment which is accessed by an outside staircase. It has sloped ceilings with roof windows to make the most of the breathtaking views across the rivers, tree-tops and to the hills beyond.

The Loft has an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space to create a light and airy home. There is one bedroom with a king-size bed, and a beautiful bathroom with underfloor heating and a double- ended bath. There are stunning views of the weir at Brooklinn Mill and the river Ericht.

There are two small utility/ store rooms one of which also houses the washing machine.

Brooklinn Mill is about 1 mile from Blairgowrie which has good amenities such as shops, cafes and restaurants. But Brooklinn Mill's quiet waterside location means you can feel like you're right in the countryside. There are plenty of options for local walks right from the door whether it's the gentle walk into Blairgowrie along the riverside path, the more challenging route over the hill or indeed making the most of the 65 mile Cateran Trail which passes right by the door. There really is something for everyone!

The Jute Store occupies the rest of the building below the Loft and provides holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. The two properties can be rented out together for intergenerational holdiays.

Beautiful apartment to spend a few days around Christmas - there was even a Christmas tree which made it special. Everything was excellent and there was nothing we needed that wasn’t present. We had some lovely walks around the area as Brooklinn Mill is well placed for walking routes. I thoroughly recommend the accommodation

Wir haben fĂŒr 1 Woche in dieser wĂŒnderschönen Ferienwohung gewohnt und totall wohl gefĂŒhlt. Die ganze Wohnung ist sehr gerĂ€umig, sauber und ganz lieb eingerichtet. Die KĂŒche ist modern und sauber. Es gibt alles was man braucht. Alles sind hoch qualitativ. Die Betten sind sehr angenehme zu schhlafen. Die Wirtein ist sehr freudlich und angenehm. Wir haben in der verschiedene Ferienwohnung erfahren aber hier ist die aller beste bis jetzt. Absolut Top! Gerne kommen wir wieder, wenn wir wieder nach Schottland sind.

My partner and I spent a long weekend here with our pup and the experience exceeded our expectations. meticulously clean upon check in, we found the loft to be plenty space for the two of us. There is a generous fenced-in yard across the road which we let the dog around off lead and not worry. Location- just on the outskirts of town but an easy walk to activities. Highly recommend taking a tour of the hydroelectric set up for the entire property. 10/10 would stay here again!

It's all in the listing. The property was wonderful, the amenities as stated, and the purpose of our stay was ccomplished in style. The icing on the cake was actually the last night, when a cloudless sky afforded us a tremendous view of the stars in the sky, which you never get in built up areas. We'll definitely look to stay here again.

This is a great property which is nicely decorated and well stocked with all the mod cons. The only down side is the loo if you are a guy, as it is awkward standing under the eaves, but it definitely didn’t detract from enjoying The Loft. Also this is a good base to explore the surrounding areas and walks right on the doorstep.

The Loft is beautifully restored to very comfortable 1 bed accommodation. All the furnishings and fixtures and fittings are of high standard. The windows particularly are an excellent design, allowing great views of the beautiful River Ericht. However, there are two slight drawbacks maybe for some visitors. Being a loft the ceilings are low at the edges of the room and particularly in the bathroom. These may be an issue for taller people. Secondly for the same reason, it has not been fitted with a shower which nowadays, I think, most people prefer. But I have to say neither of these issues spoiled our stay. Loved the (red) Squirrels !

Louise was very helpful. I must have sent her 5 different times I thought we would show up with our many late and missed flights. She always answered quickly and was so gracious. The apartment is outfitted with everything you could need. She was so kind to leave cookies and milk for tea. I would not hesitate to recommend this property. It is beautiful and comfortable. Print out the directions she sends you- there is a turn you can miss. Highly recommend!

The Loft is an excellent place to stay. Modern and comfortable with everything you need. We saw red squirrels and a kingfisher. It is a beautiful peaceful location. It is the only self-catering establishment we have been to where I haven't needed to wash all crockery and cutlery. Great.

Wir waren hier fĂŒr 5 Tage, und jeden Tag haben wir genossen. Sehr nette Vermieter, die Wohnung hatte alles, was man brauchte und die Fenster machten alles hell und freundlich. Gewagt, den Teppich in Weiss zu wĂ€hlen, aber wir hatten Hausschuhe mit. Das Wetter war super, und wir machen die Dachterrassenfenster immer auf, war ein wenig wie draussen sitzen. Alles war sauber, wer hier meckert, der tickt nicht mehr richtig. lach Nein, wir können die Wohnung und die Vermieter uneingeschrĂ€nkt weiter empfehlen. Wir waren wirklich sehr sehr gerne hier.

An extremely comfortable space for two with a smashing bath with velux windows overhead to see the stars as you bathe. A great base to explore the magnificent scenery of Perthshire and Angus and only one mile out of Blairgowrie so very handy indeed for replenishing food and wine! Cheers for a wonderful stay! 😀

The Loft was an awesome place to stay! This is a wonderfully remodeled property, situated in a very picturesque area. It was an old mill store, yet has recently been remodeled, very comfortably furnished, with a modern kitchen with everything that you would need for the perfect getaway. The property is adjacent to a river, which provides for that peaceful sound of the water rushing by, as well as for all of the wildlife and wonder associated with such a setting. The owners live adjacent to the Loft, and I was met promptly upon arrival and given the key to the property. Prior to my arrival, I was sent a very thorough welcome letter, with descriptions and directions covering about every question that might have been asked regarding the property, as well as what is to be found in the surrounding area. There are pamplets, maps and guidebooks on hand as well, that will better allow for planning of your day trips to the surrounding area. There are numerous ruins within a few hours drive of the property, as well as a handful of distillery's, for those looking to partake of some great scotch! The Loft was very nicely appointed and provided me with an incredible stay! I obviously thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would highly recommend the property to anyone looking for a simple quiet retreat, or a home base while touring the beautiful Scottish countryside.
