« My 8yr old son and I were in town for one night and needed a place to stay. Found the Blank Slate bus and jumped on it, AFTER reading all of the details. We could not have had more fun! Everything was tidy and clean. Having most of our camping supplies, we were over prepared. Once we got settled in for the night, it was all we needed. Waking up in a forest but only a few miles from civilization was a plus.Could not recommend more! It was lovely. »

« Cozy feeling to the cabin..beautiful, peaceful setting on the lake. We saw deer walking through the yard! So amazing! Will definitely return for another stay. We hosted a family cookout for about 12 people, and one family member requested information and interest about property for his own famiky getaway. The hist was always prompt about answering all questions we had. Really enjoyed our stay »

« So much potential with this one! The cabin was brand new and beautiful. So was the bathhouse. Property is on a busy road with cars and motorcycles zipping by until the late hours. Property manager did not send confirmation until 20 minutes after check in time, I was on the road and couldn’t respond and by the time I got there and realized there was no cell service. I could not access my app to write to request the Wi-Fi password… If there is one? Normally this would not be priority,...

« This was a fantastic stay! The hosts were always responsive and check-in was easy. We stayed for an extended time due to our home needing repairs. The hosts worked with us to fill this long term request and were super accommodating! This place would be great for a bigger group too, with lots of space inside and out. « Each of us, ranging ages 10-50, enjoyed our family time at this home. It is so close to Virginia Tech. It’s tucked in a cute hilly well maintained neighborhood. The check-in process was very easy. The home felt brand new! It wa so clean and welcoming! The features and kid things were so great! We’d definitely stay here again! Thank you for this great place and chance to see our sophomore over family weekend! »

« Staying at the Tranquil Retreat has been so much nicer than staying at a hotel. Plenty of space for 3 adults and we really appreciated the upgraded amenities, including the wonderfully comfortable beds. Great, well stocked kitchen, very easy to prepare a meal and nice to have a washer and dryer. This is our second stay here to visit our daughter, and we will certainly be back. »

« This property is in a super convenient location in the downtown area. While it is an older house, it has plenty of space for a party of 6 - only downside is that there is only one full bathroom so that can get tricky but totally understand based on the age and size of the home. The fenced in yard was nice for the dog who absolutely loved the ducks in the next door neighbor’s yard. The kiddos loved the tire swing in the back as well. Overall, good spot to be for game weekend. »
