Voyage en famille

This is a nice, older hotel in downtown Birmingham.
Check in was easy, the staff was very pleasant. We had a room on the 9th floor- a corner room. The room itself was spacious. The bed in this room is double beds- very small for anyone over 6ft tall. The hotel does not have any type of roll away bed for an extra person in your room.
There is public parking directly across the street- it’s pay to park- it only keys you pay for 12 hrs at a time so that’s inconvenient. Valet is available for a higher fee.
The rooftop bar is nothing special. Seems it’s a local hangout and the folks there were quite rowdy. Basic drinks and beer were offered.
This is an older building - quaint but not quiet. You can hear everything outside- even 9 Floors up. You can hear the old pipes rumbling, the elevators are loud ( but functional).
The television in the rooms are not smart tv so all that’s available is local cable.
The area around the hotel does not offer much in the way of food choices and everything closes very early.
The hotel has a restaurant but we did not eat there.
For the price we paid, I expected a bit more, but they call this a curio collection hotel so I guess that’s the justification for the rates. ??
