One of the best summer vacations for the fam! Having the dock is a game changer with the addition of renting a boat to be able to get around the beautiful waters. Right there at the house you encounter aquatic and land wildlife, the Key Deer are adorable! We saw nurse sharks, barracuda, snapper, horseshoe crabs, baby black tip sharks, amazing sunsets, crabs, iguana. Fishing was a great way to spend the evenings after a day of boating, or if youâre an 11 year old boy, the whole dang day! Many shark, barracuda and snapper were caught. Kikiâs quickly became a dinner staple and we recommend doing the fried grouper bites appetizer, the peanut butter pie, the tacos and load up on the special tartar sauce! Catch live music at 6 for vibes. Definitely recommend a stay at Beachside @ Torchview.
The property was beautiful and clean. You can't beat the view. We brought our paddle boards and fished off the dock. We are looking to rebook for next year.
Our second year staying here, what an amazing property. Close enough to the chaos of Key West, but secluded with Key deer everywhere and iguanas walking down the dock. No chickens! We'll be back.
The property was wonderful, just as descibed we mostly chose this property for the water access as we had a boat and trailer. Unfortunately it was too windy most of the week to dock at the pier so we just used the bahia honda boat ramp and kept the boat on the trailer at night. Very convenient location, a nice 40 minute to key west and 20 minutes to bahia honda .The house is very secluded a very wooded drive in off the highway. Can't say enough about the property, very well furnished and very clean. No issues at all.It is on well water so there is no water available outside for a hose which is understandable. Would definitely stay again.
This place was everything it was billed as. Wonderfully quiet and scenic but only 10 minutes from a "normal"grocery store. We saw as much rare and wonderful stuff on the drive to and from the place as we did at some of the spots we visited. We really loved that the porch was screened and thus bug free but that you could go out to a non-screened part for pictures of the sunset - which was remarkable every night. We had great communication from Theresa and the one thing I needed fixed - a part of the grill that was broken - was fixed within hours of me letting her know. Could not have had a more enjoyable stay - just wish it was not so far away from Michigan ;)
I had a wonderful 3 weeks stay at Beachside@Torchview. I loved the privacy of the house, the gorgeous sunset views, and the peaceful mornings sitting out on the deck while drinking my morning coffee. I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the busy Florida Keys. It was everything I had hoped for, and I will definitely be staying here again if I decide to return to the Keys next year. The house was very clean and suited my needs perfectly, and the host was very accommodating.
This was the second time we've stayed at this property. We rented it for fall break 2023 and 2024. We always have a blast at this house! The location is beautiful, private, and quiet. We had so many Key deer in the front yard each evening. The fishing is great. We caught so many fish and several sharks. The house is always clean and comfortable.
All went well except their was a back charge on amount paid several weeks after payment was made. When I contacted VRBO they were no help. VRBO handled issue terrible. VRBO could not tell me why there was a back charge or provide a new billing for amount back charged so I could pay amount again.
I contacted host and she was able to resolve issue and stay was great.
As a family of 4 with a 4 & 5 year old this place was great. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony in the mornings. Fishing off the pier in the evenings. Beds were comfortable. Itâs just far enough away to offer seclusion and yet close to things when rainy days take you off the water. Overall this home was exactly what we wanted. Would definitely stay again.
My wife and I chose this property to spend 10 days celebrating our 30th anniversary. Unbelievable. If you want a getaway spot away from the crazies on Duval Street, but within striking distance, this is the place. If you love nature, this is your place - Key deer, iguanas, amazing water life⊠Sunset views? Stunning. We also rented a boat to explore for a few days, the dock is such a great part of this property. Condition was stellar, completely as advertised. Iâve seen reviews questioning the water pressure, but that is not an issue at all. We had an amazing stay at this property and will be backâŠ
We caught mangrove snapper, numerous barracuda, hermit crabs, mud crabs, and anoles, and a drifting sea horse. We saw angel fish, grouper, parrot fish, a sand shark, sponges, stone crabs, horseshoe crabs, key deer, and an iguana, all under or on the pier. Bring a mask and snorkel! A/C was cold, tv never used. Cooked mahi mahi on the gas grill with a nice grilling pan we found in the kitchen. 40-55 minutes from anywhere you might want to visit in Key West also.
We were looking for a spot that had easy access to the water and slightly remote. This place was perfect. Not a lot going on right around the house, but we could get out and do things with a short drive.
What a wonderful spot. The private dock, screened-in porch and open floor plan are just a few of our favorites. The host is lovely and the king bed is very comfortable. I loved all of the sea life to explore and the quiet sunsets. We will definitely be back! Loved every minute of our stay.
If you want a secluded getaway in the Florida Keys, this home is perfect. With only one neighbor next door, this is also a quiet place removed from the built-up areas. The screened porch was a great place to hang out to enjoy the vast water view. The long pier and dock was a good place to fish and swim. We not only caught fish, but also saw other marine life including stingrays, sharks & lobsters. The home was ideal for two couples with the 2 separated bedrooms and 2 baths. The kitchen was fine for the cooking we did and we also used the gas grill, which worked well. There was a Win Dixie on nearby Big Pine Key where we shopped for groceries. One day we went to Key West which was only a 45 minute drive. We all enjoyed our week here and would love to return someday.
Our family of 5 had an amazing time during our almost two week stay! The location of this house is just unbelievable.....set back in a private and quiet area surrounded by trees and water. Key deer, raccoons, and birds were in the front yard every morning and evening and the daily sealife out back around the dock made every day exciting. We had different kinds of sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, dolphins, and so many kinds of fish come by most days. My teenage boys love to fish and spent a lot of time fishing. The fishing was incredible! We swam and snorkeled right off the dock and shore. We had kayaks and paddleboards delivered and the area is great for those activities.
The house is very nice and was clean upon our arrival. The beds and living room furniture were very comfortable. There are plenty of dishes, cups, pans, utensils, etc. We used the outdoor grill and it worked fine. The house has some board games and many books. A couple beach towels were provided. The only thing I can think of suggesting is to provide some additional wash cloths in each bathroom just because they get musty smelling so quickly in the humidity.
We have been coming to the lower Keys since my boys were 4 and have stayed in 7 other houses. This house took the top spot as our new favorite house. We definitely plan on staying here again!
