« Staying at this property is a dream. It’s like being home, quality everything, little nicknaks everywhere . More than enough food for brekkie. And fresh eggs to die for from the chickens in the backyard. Heating turned on for our arrival.Perfect enclosure for our mini daschound.Chatting with Mitch and Meagan the Hosts. Just like talking to your neighbour. Really loved our stay. And will recommend it to anyone I know who will be staying in Bendigo. »

« Cozy, clean, mud and brick cottage on a large property, with bush tennis court and a dam. Elbert welcomed us to the property with a fire prelit in the woodstove with enough firewood and kindling to last the trip. A chat about the local area and expansive property followed, with instructions on how to use the woodfire oven. Over the weekend we enjoyed the local hospitality and the excellent accommodation. 10/10, will stay again! »

« Lovely property, renovated (but not "restored") to high standard but modern electricals (great wifi, TV) and kitchen/baths. Spacious home, multiple eating areas, quiet street, and with a terrific host. Maldon is a charming small town and well-located to see the goldfields area. Only downside is there are only a couple of places in the town proper to dine out (Castlemaine is close). But a great place with all creature comforts. »

« On arrival after a 7 hour drive we opened the door of this quaint hideaway and were frozen by the chill factor. The split reverse cycle heater was of little help in warming the space and the wood fire was wood free. After a trip into Castlemaine we returned with 15kg of wood, fire starters and kindling at a cost of $40. Once we started the fire our spirits lifted and our appreciation of the property was enhanced. Had we arrived to find an efficient wall heater and the wood heater set to light...
