Encompassing 10 acres, Camp Journey is a place to rest, play, and connect. Located at the entryway to the Texas Hill Country in the heart of Austin County. This rustic retreat destination is a perfect place for family reunions, church gatherings, or corporate retreats.

(The rental includes a dining hall, dance hall, and two cabins that sleep up to 80 ppl. A third cabin is available to rent for groups larger than 80ppl with an additional fee.)

Perfect for retreats!

We stayed here with our student organization and absolutely loved it! The space was perfect for our group—plenty of room to spread out while still feeling connected. We used the trail for a peaceful prayer walk, grilled burgers together, and used the dance hall for worship and skits—it was the ideal setup for our retreat. The dining area was spacious, the cabins were clean and cozy, and the check-out process was super easy. We felt really at home and had such a sweet time together. We're already talking about coming back in the future. Highly recommend for any group gathering or retreat!

We stayed at this place with family and friends and we enjoyed every single moment. I’d recommend this place for families and friends who would like to have a place to stay and enjoy their time. The only thing that I’d recommend to the host is to take care of some of the mattresses which are a bit old and one may not be comfortable sleeping on them. The rest was just amazing

Large Group/Student Film

Genuinely gorgeous campsite. Run by an amazing host, it’s the perfect place for family/friend groups to come getaway and enjoy some nature. Colin goes above and beyond to make sure everything is ready for you and answers all questions promptly. Newley renovated, the insides of all the buildings were nice and clean. Kitchen as well. The three cabins provided more than enough beds and the majority of them had thick/comfortable mattresses, with multiple bathroom stalls in each cabin. Colin is continuously renovating and making improvements to the space so I wouldn’t be surprised if new additions are added soon! If I could give 10 stars I would. Will be returning soon.

Great Stay!

Our Labor Day Weekend Trip was a blast with about 40 people in attendance. The event space, dining hall, and kitchen are all spectacular. It was fabulous to use the basketball court for all kinds of games, sand volleyball, kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes. Colin was very responsive and helpful throughout the weekend.

All around great experience.

Everyone in attendance at our little gathering was struck at how great the place was and what it had to offer in the way of activities. The kitchen area was awesome with a commercial size sink and stove and lots of utensils and cookware to use if we needed them. The facility was in a transition phase and under construction in some areas, but the host made sure that everything was presentable and was super accommodating to our special requests. There was always an open line of communication with Mr. Coates and he would respond promptly to all of our questions throughout the booking and stay. I would recommend this place for a family gathering in a heartbeat. It's a great value for the money.

Great Place

This was the perfect place for my family. We had 50 people in this party and it was enough space for everyone. The property was clean. The property owner was very helpful and available. The canoes was great. The fishing was catch and release and it was good. We enjoyed the basketball courts, volleyball, and the event center. I would definitely recommend this place for big gatherings. It is appropriate for all ages. Only thing I could say con was the pool was not available but it was not listed as being available. It would have been a great amenity to the property. I would revist Camp Journey in the future.

Great Time

Location is great and the property is very nice. Lodging is simplistic but it is more than adequate. Lake is very pretty, and the courts on the property are fun to use as well. Would return again, was a great place for our retreat!
