Barb and Barb's Country Getaway

Take a break from your busy life. Enjoy the country life in your own private apartment. Walk along a rural lane to view our valley. Tasty fresh brown eggs from our organic chickens are a great way to start your day. See the calves & goats kicking up their heels. New kids born Feb 14, 18
Relax in front of a pellet fire view stove or cool off with air conditioning. Cook up a storm in a full kitchen. Take your time to take in the beauty of nature. View the stars and moon. Enjoy, Enjoy.
The space
The private apartment is cozy with a fire view pellet stove. The countryside is beautiful. You have access to our 25 acres of land for hiking and snowshoeing. A babbling brook meanders in our back yard. Eggs until Sept 1. We welcome you to explore the wonders of nature.
Guest access
Parking is to the left of the garage. Make yourself comfortable in a pleasant country setting.
Your apartment has a storage space below it. Noise levels will be minimal. You will have access to the yards and our garden. Enjoy walking on our country road. Kick back and relax. Good verizon phone service but no wifi at this time.
Other things to note
In the heart of the Finger Lakes is the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail offering a unique blend of award-winning wines, scenic waterfalls, and local eateries.
Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge. Campers and day-visitors can enjoy the Olympic-size pool, scheduled summer tours through the gorge, tent and trailer campsites, picnic facilities and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek, which is renowned for its annual spring run of rainbow trout.
The Corning Museum of Glass is home to the world’s most comprehensive and celebrated collection of glass. At the Rockwell museum there is a diverse collection includes a mix of contemporary Native American art with traditional bronze sculptures, landscape paintings and other works that embody America. Within a mile there is a nine hole golf course.

The hosts were beyond amazing!!! My girls and I enjoyed the tour of the barn to meet the goats and learn about the property with the other guests. I purchased 2 doz fresh eggs to take home with me from the farm. The location to Watkins Glen park & town was great. We will be back again.

We had such a nice birthday weekend staying at the property. The location was great; we went to the Corning Museum of Glass one day and to Watkins Glenn State Park another. We had everything we needed and when we were unsure about the pellet stove Barb we right up to check it out. On our last day we had a tour of the farm and got to visit the goats which was a highlight of the trip. Definitely would recommend this place.

Our room above the barn was perfect, clean, comfy, and included everything we needed for our four-night stay. It has a large window with a view East where I sat with my wife and a cup of coffee and watched the sun rise. Barb and Barb was always available if needed and very helpful in answering our tourist questions. Our stay included visiting Corning, Watkins Glenn, and the Cornell botanic gardens. All were in easy driving distance. My wife and I would not hesitate to stay here again, and most likely we will in that there is much more to see in this area.

⸻We had a wonderful stay at this charming country place. The owners were incredibly hospitable and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights was the farm tour, which was both fun and informative—a really special experience that gave us a deeper appreciation of the surroundings. Beautiful, quiet, private, fully equipped apartment in Beavers Dam

Beautiful, quiet, fully equipped apartment in Beaver's Dam, NY. Hosts super responsive. I did not take advantage of the goat barn tour, but am sure it would have been wonderful. Kitchen is great (I cook most of my own meals.) Apartment is quiet. Setting is beautiful. Just be aware, if you are physically challenged around going up stairs, this place is above a storage/garage area, so you go up stairs to a private 2nd floor deck and private entrance.

Great location and place to stay

The hosts were very attentive and hospitable. The location was out in the county but close to favorite vacation sites. We will definitely return and recommend to others. Any needs we had were met. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in.

We really enjoyed Barb & Barb’s place. Perfect for 2 & quite peaceful & relaxing. We got to enjoy a tour of the farm & hanging out with the goats. It was a perfect location for us to visit Corning & Watkins Glen. The Glen area has several wineries to visit or you could find fantastic hiking trails at the State Park. Barb recommended the Corning Museum of Glass & we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the exhibits & watching demos. Tx for the tip!

Quiet studio

The room we stayed in was located over a garage. Very quiet, down a back country road. Kitchen and bathroom fully stocked! Hosts were very friendly. We enjoyed meeting their hosts and 2 dogs.

Quiet country setting

Wonderful farm setting provided us a chance to unplug and really relax. Centered between Corning and Watkins Glen, the location was a perfect hub for us to explore the area. It was so great to see spring in motion in the valley and hills.

The perfect spot!

We had plans to explore most of Seneca Lake, Corning, and Ithaca. The location of the farm was PERFECT and Barb and Barb could not have been more accommodating. The rental was the best space for us to launch from and gave us room to spread out and enjoy the scenery. Such a perfect, beautiful spot to stay for our honeymoon!

**Review for Barb and Barb's Country Getaway** My wife and I had the most wonderful stay at Barb and Barb's Country Getaway. The scenic property was absolutely beautiful, and we adored the peaceful surroundings. The location was perfect, allowing us to explore the fantastic food scenes in both Corning NY and Watkins Glen. We especially enjoyed visiting with the goats and chickens, which added a charming touch to our countryside experience. Barb and BJ are truly sweet and friendly people, and their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. We also had an amazing time exploring Watkins Glen Park, where the hike exceeded our expectations and provided breathtaking views. Overall, our stay at Barb's Country Getaway was beyond delightful, and we cannot wait to return for another peaceful and memorable experience.

anniversary trip!

This trip was so wonderful. My boyfriend and I stayed here for our 2 year anniversary trip, and had such a wonderful time here. It was clean, the owner was super nice, and I loved waking up to the noises of nature. Definitely would recommend booking here!

Quiet getaway

If your looking for a place to go, just you and your spouse/partner, I would absolutely recommend staying here. It's out of the hustle and bustle of town, in a relaxing country setting. Beautiful views!! Cell service is not the best and there is no wifi, both of which we knew before booking. It was nice to unplug from everything that life throws at us these days. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the owners, is that there's not much to do in the evening in the area. Everything closes down at 5pm so make sure to plan your day early and you'll have the evening to relax. We would absolutely book with BJ and Barb again!

Second floor apt... What was an inlaw appartment is now a seperate rental. Back patio enterance is very secluded. Second floor bay window allows quiet peacful indoor sitting, secluded open feel. No internet to drag you back to work, but Good cell reception for tourism search (have data available)
