« Hillthwaite feels staying in a family home rather than a hotel and the warm welcome certainly matches. The room was spacious and bedding extremely comfortable, which was perfect for a mini break in the area. Extra points for the bathtub (in addition to a full shower)! Breakfast was excellent and the staff is lovely. »

« We came back late from a long walk in the Lakes and realize arriving in our room that they gave us a room with no blind or curtain !!!! We rang the Reception at 11pm they said someone was coming but nobody showed up. The following morning when we wanted to record a formal claim the receptionist just told us "sorry" It is a shame !!! Avoid this hotel ! You pay a high rate for the location but the rest is shameful !! »

« We enjoyed our stay at Kotel. Good location, good wifi connection. However we would have liked to have had an electric hob as with only a microwave cooking was rather limited. Also not easy to wash up as no plug in the sink. Fortunately there was an ice bucket I could use to wash up!!!. Crockery was also limited to 2 sets only. Had to check with staff on site re disposal of our rubbish as bins not very big. It would also be good that the Kotel staff supply a brush and dustpan for sweeping up the...

« The person at the reception had a very inappropriate behaviour. The welcome was cold, to such a point that we did not stay in the hotel for the diner. Piscine (nice, good temperature), sauna (not warm enough - could not even sweat) Jaccuzzi (out of order). Wifi limited to Whathsapp and Facebok. TV poor quality (channels). Room quite big, good confort with 2 kids, a plus »

« Cleanliness was great! Garden is big but not very well maintained. It would had been good if there were some toiletries (no handwash, no shampoo or soap anywhere - had plenty of towels and napkins) which I feel is basic necessity and not everyone would carry it unless aware of not having it in the house and there is nowhere you can buy it from nearby. Overall cleanliness was amazing, location and space is nice, and I would book it again for these reasons. »

« The lodge itself is lovely, it’s spacious and has so much potential but Cleanliness was a let down for us. We arrived 30 minutes after the allotted check-in time to a property that hadn’t been cleaned. Dirty towels on the floor, beds not made and the floor was filthy.
