Maison de charme dans le parc d’un château monument historique

A trois kilomètres du centre de Bayeux et à 7 kilomètres de la mer, cette maison de charme du XVIIIème siècle, totalement restaurée, est située dans le parc du château de Barbeville, monuments historique.
La localisation est idéale pour découvrir l’ensemble des sites du débarquement, la superbe ville de Bayeux et la très belle région du Bessin, mais aussi pour profiter des plages, du tennis de la propriété et du golf d'Omaha Beach.

La maison de 200 m2 se compose d’un rez-de-chaussée avec une entrée, une laverie, un WC avec lave-mains, une cuisine ouvrant sur une vaste salle à manger, et un très grand et très confortable salon.

Au 1er étage il y a un WC, trois grandes chambres et deux salles de bains très modernes, l’une d’elles communicant avec deux chambres.

L’ensemble est décoré avec recherche et raffinement donnant à cette maison une atmosphère très chaleureuse.
Une terrasse extérieure exposée au Sud permet de profiter du soleil et de la vue sur un joli jardin fleuri et un superbe panorama.
Le parc possède un tennis, un trampoline et une table de ping-pong, tout cela dans un environnement de calme et de verdure soignée…

- Le superbe golf d’Omaha Beach de Port-en-Bessin (36 trous) est à 7 kilomètres.
- La petite ville de Bayeux, à 3 kilomètres, préservée pendant la guerre, a conservé sa valeur historique avec sa cathédrale du XIIème siècle, ses maisons à colombages, ses nombreux hôtels particuliers du XVIIème et XVIIIème siècle.
- Le charme de son marché le samedi matin en fait une curiosité pour toute la région.
- Un joli et très intéressant musée d'art et d'histoire a été entièrement rénové très récemment…

La région du Bessin autour de Bayeux offre de très nombreux manoirs et châteaux historiques du XVIème au XVIIIème siècles dont la plupart sont visitables. Si vous êtes un amoureux des jardins, vous pouvez vous organiser un circuit : jardin du château de Brécy réputé pour ses haies de buis, jardin de Castillon aux innombrables variétés de fleurs....
Parmi les très nombreuses excursions d'une journée, figurent : le Mont Saint-Michel (inscrit au patrimoine de l'Unesco), les îles anglo-normandes de Jersey, Guernesey, Serck et Aurigny. Les îles Chausey sont particulièrement remarquables par leur marnage aux grandes marées.
La baie des Veys est le paradis des oiseaux, à côté des marais du Cotentin aux superbes paysages.

Magnifique maison bien équipée dans un suberbe parc
Nous avons été enchantés de notre séjour à Barbeville. La maison est idéalement située à 5min de Bayeux et une dizaines de minutes de Port en Bessin. La maison est très confortable et bien équipée. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Nous vous recommandons cette location !

Wonderful stay in beautiful setting
We spent a week in the manoir. The hosts were very welcoming. The manoir is spacious and clean, beautifully furnished with a rustic feel and well equiped. The garden is very green and pleasant. Our children loved the tennis court aside from the other leisure activities. Well situated for touristic visits.

Great stay in Norman Estate
We had a really great time in this very special holiday home- an old rebuilt coachhouse nextdoor to the Castle of Barneville. The inside of the house is furnished and decorated with much love, das outsides are great to come down, read a book or go exploring with kids. Everything is neat and tidy. The owners are very very nice, kind and welcoming! Because of it’s great location, you can do a lot of sight seeing in the Normandie in under 1,5h. For us the perfect place to stay in the Normandie!

Difficult to put in to words
This place is charming, cozy, lovely, and magical. Christian and his lovely wife, Marie-Christine are wonderful people. The carriage house was perfect. Lots of room to relax with a great kitchen. If you love old world charm with history, this place in perfect for you. Christian gave us a grand tour and told us the history of the grand house. We love it at chateau Barbeville and hope to come back. PS. The location is perfect for seeing everything in Normandy.

The house is set in stunning chateaux grounds. Beds were all very comfortable. Owner, charming and very helpful. Our 6yr old granddaughter loved the swing and trampoline and we all enjoyed the tennis and table tennis.

This historic property is located only 2.5 Km from Bayeux. The location is quiet and beautiful. Christian and Marie-Chrisine are gracious hosts, and Christian was very helpful in directing us to fine dining (as well as helping me with my parking ticket in Bayeux).

Normandy Home Perfect
A well equipped, comfortable, relaxing environment. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and we enjoyed sitting outside in the late afternoon and evening. Our hosts were wonderful. They provided much assistance with local restaurants and places to visit. The home is very centrally located to visit the DDay museums and beaches as well as many Chateau's, Jardins, and other attractions. Highly recommend. We hope to go back!!

Glorious stay at the Chateau de Barbeville
We stayed here on a trip to Normandy beaches and feel so lucky to have found the perfect spot for 6 adults - grandparents, their two adult grandaughters and 2 daughters. We felt part of history and based ourselves here while we explored the area and the perfect French town of Bayeaux. Christian and Marie-Christine were warm and welcoming, the kitchen fully stocked for us to cook and sit at the beautiful dining room table and visit when we were not going out. Less than 10 minute drive to Bayeaux for shopping, trips to the boulangerie and dinners out. Lots of space in the house and outside for 6 adults. Cannot recommend enough and will definitely be back! Thank you so much for the magical stay!

Fantastic property
This is an unbeatable place to stay - the house is extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished, with lovely gardens. It is in a great location - less than a 5 minute drive to Bayeux but set in peaceful countryside. Our hosts were extremely hospitable and charming, and we spent an idyllic week at Barbeville. We would strongly recommend the property to both couples and families alike, and will certainly be returning.

Everything was awesome
This place is everything it is advertised to be and then some. Christian was excellent to communicate with and even forwarded a book he created to assist visitors with their planning. The main highway is easily accessible which made travel incredibly easy. I would highly recommend this for family lodging as the rooms are big, the kitchen has everything and groceries are a 5 minute drive away in Bayeaux.

Fantastic location just 1 mile from Bayeux. The host was very informative and lives in the Château. The unit/Annex is the coach house that has a nice three bedroom layout. Good for up to six people. The grounds are spacious and the little village includes a 13th century church right next door. The Kitchen is well stocked and spacious. Modern appliances including a dishwasher, washer, and dryer. The location is a good base for your Normandy vacation.

Outstanding!
Could not have been more pleased with this gorgeous 18th century home! The hosts, Christian and Marie-Christine, were not only professional and kind, but extremely gracious by inviting us into their home for drinks. Our accommodation at the cottage was perfectly lovely- clean, convenient, and comfortable. Loved the fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, and location. The tennis court and trampoline gave our kids extra entertainment. We can’t wait to come back here for an extended stay! Thank you Christian and Marie-Christine!

Normandy in spring.
We spent four wonderful days in Normandy and our stay at this property greatly enhanced our trip The carriage house is beautifully decorated(especially the bedrooms) and is as comfortable and cosy as can be. The grounds are lovely and we were lucky to be there when a magnificent white tree was blooming right on our doorstep. The chateau itself is very impressive and our hosts were kind and friendly and will always be a part of our memories of our journey. In the future, we would happily return to this property.

A peaceful and beautiful place
This is a unique and beautifully restored 18th century carriage house. It has a wonderful old time feel but with all the modern conveniences and equipment. There is a lovely "backyard" with fruit trees and tables for eating. The house is set in a peaceful rural location but close to Bayeux and its many good restaurants and of course the tapestry which is a "must see." The hosts live in the chateau and are very nice and helpful but not intrusive. I can't think of enough good things to say about this vacation rental. My husband and I spent a very happy week there.

Barbeville coach house
The only thing keeping me from giving it a five star rating was the toilet situation. The accommodations were wonderful, the bathrooms were modern but neither bathroom had a toilet. Four of us had to share one toilet situated in the hallway. At times it was problematic. Also, may I suggest that grab bars be installed in the tub area . Otherwise, the location could not have been better for exploring Normandy. And our hosts were very gracious.

Feeling at home in Normandy...
Marie-Christine and Christian are an elegant, warm couple whose guest house exudes the same. The location is perfect— a quick ten minute ride to Bayeux. There are wonderful supermarkets close by and the Kitchen so well appointed we had several evening meals at home. The bedrooms so comfortable that there were days we were tempted to sleep in and skip touring! Our comments do not do justice to this beautiful home and location. The Falls

Unbedingt empfehlenswert!!
Wir haben einen wunderbaren Urlaub verlebt. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet, gemütlich und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und die Lage mit dem großen Garten traumhaft vor allem auch für die Kinder. Wir haben schon etliche Häuser im Laufe der Jahre gemietet, Aber ich muss, sagen das war das schönste. Die Aufteilung der Räume hat uns zwei Familien auch ein bisschen Privatsphäre gestattet und das grosse Wohnzimmer bietet allen genug Platz zum gemütlichen Sitzen. Nicht zu vergessen die charmanten Hausherren! Immer da wenn wir etwas gebraucht haben und sehr aufmerksam! Vielen Dank, Christian und Marie, für den herrlich Aufenthalt bei Ihnen. Sollte sich die Gelegenheit bietet kommen wir bestimmt wieder!

Wonderfull accommodation / Sehr schöne Unterkunft
Das große, geräumige Haus liegt auf dem Grundstück des historischen Anwesens von Chateau Barbeville, seit 1753 in Familienbesitz. Auf den umliegenden Außenbereichen der Unterkunft kann man wunderbar Frühstücken oder Abends ein Glas Wein trinken, aber sich auch einfach nur wohl fühlen. Es ist mit allem ausgestattet. Tennisplatz und Tischtennisplatte sind ebenfalls vorhanden und auch Fußball darf gespielt werden. Familie Delecourt wohnt im Chateau, ist ganz unkompliziert, sehr herzlich und hilfreich bei allen Fragen. Nur 3 km von Bayeux entfernt liegt das Haus ideal für alle Erkundungen rund um Kultur und Geschichte der Normandie. Natürlich spielen hier die nahen Landungsstrände des D-Day eine besondere Rolle. Die Museen und Schauplätze sind sehr interessant. Aber auch viele andere Stätten der Normannischen Geschichte (z.B. Mont St. Michel) oder Landschaften (Pays d`Auge) sind zu entdecken und nicht weit. Wir hatten mit unserer Familie eine tolle Zeit. Christian and Marie-Christine thank you for the wonderfull time we've spent in your accommodation and the Normandy. We really saw a lot. Special thanks for your historical explanation of your family and the Chateau. Very friendly that we could have a look into the Chateau and take a drink we you. Quintessential Normandy
Charming 18th century house in the shadow of the main chateau. Located close to Bayeux and all things related to D-DAY. Tbe owners went above and beyond to help us during the 75th anniversary of D-Day. We brought along some friends who had never visited Normandy and they were very impressed. This was my eighth visit to my uncle's grave above Omaha Beach and Christian and Christine made me feel like family.

A real life fairy tale
Oh my, it was such delight to stay here! The home was cozy, clean and welcoming with plenty of space for our family. The perfect resting spot at the end of each day of exploring the surrounding area. The town of Bayeux, just down the street a ways, is beautiful with plenty of old town charm and modern conveniences too. I had the best stay ever and would love to return one day. Absolutely lovely!
This was the perfect location for our family of 6 (3 generations) to stay while in Normandy. The home is lovely, charming, comfortable and located on the beautiful grounds of a chateau built in the 1700s. The home has been beautifully maintained and decorated and has all the modern amenities and a well equipped kitchen. There was plenty of room for all of us. The property is delightful with beautiful gardens, plenty of space for the kids to roam, a tennis court, ping pong table, and trampoline. Barbeville is minutes from downtown Bayeux with multiple grocery stores and restaurants. It is centrally located so you see all that Normandy has to offer. Christian and Marie-Christine were quickly responsive to my inquiry and questions prior to the trip. Due to a family emergency, we did not have the pleasure of meeting them. However, Jocelyn, their housekeeper, took wonderful care of us while we were in Barbeville. She was available when we checked in, showed us around, and checked on us during our stay. I would highly recommend this home if you are traveling to Normandy.
