Black Diamond Luxury Unwind: Hot Tub, Game Room, Sleeps 14

Black Diamond sits on the front side of the mountain in gated Eagle's Nest, just a few minutes from the front gate and about three from the Great Camp amphitheater. Built in 2022, this custom lodge sleeps 14 across four bedrooms and an enclosable loft, with layered, year-round ridgeline views stretching out from the decks.

THE SETTING
I'm just minutes from downtown Banner Elk here, tucked into the front side of Eagle's Nest with the mountains rolling out in every direction. The driveway is gravel, so I'd recommend 4WD or AWD, especially from November through March.

INSIDE THE HOME
Step in and you're under soaring vaulted ceilings, with a stone and wood floor-to-ceiling gas fireplace anchoring the great room. Leather furnishings and big windows keep the space warm and bright at once. The kitchen is a real cook's kitchen — stainless appliances, a large granite island with seating for three, and custom cabinetry throughout — with a dining table that seats six just off the island. Downstairs, the lower-level lounge has a huge sectional, a large-screen TV, and its own access to the lower deck, along with the game room built in for rainy afternoons.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Main Level: the primary suite has a king bed, TV, private deck access, and a spa-style ensuite with a freestanding soaking tub and a walk-in shower.
Upper Level: two more bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a TV, sharing a bath between them. Down the hall, an enclosable loft (sliding barn door) has a queen sleeper sofa and vaulted wood ceilings, ideal for extra guests who want their own nook.
Lower Level: a bunk room with two built-in twin-over-full bunks, plus its own bathroom just down the hall.

OUTSIDE & UNWIND
The hot tub is tucked onto the covered lower deck, the spot for soaking away the day under the stars. There's a fire pit for evenings with the group, a covered deck with an outdoor stone fireplace, a gas grill, and a covered dining deck — multiple ways to be outside no matter the weather.

EAGLE'S NEST AMENITIES
Staying at Black Diamond comes with access to the neighborhood's amenities: the Great Camp (BBQ pavilion, amphitheater with a summer concert series, the Great Lawn, playground, hiking trails, seasonal ropes course and mini-golf, and a 24/7 general store), the North Pavilion (basketball and pickleball courts, a dog park, walking trails, and a fire pit of its own), and Camp (tennis, pickleball, frisbee golf, and archery). Eagle's Nest Winery offers day passes for guests 16 and up. The locked portion of the Sportsman's Lodge, the Fitness Center, and the Wine & Cigar Bar stay owner-members only.

GOOD TO KNOW
I'm pet friendly here — up to two well-behaved dogs, each under 40 lbs, with a pet fee. Please note a new home is being built on a nearby lot, so there may be construction noise Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, along with some community-wide construction traffic. I keep exterior security cameras on the property for security (none indoors, and none aimed at the hot tub, fireplace, or fire pit). Cell reception can be spotty in spots, so I'd screenshot your directions before you head up the mountain.
