Perfect family stay in a charming house

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely old house which offered great facilities including a swimming pool and a games room. Although the kitchen was divided between two rooms, it didn’t detract from an enjoyable experience. It proved to be the perfect setting for our family weekend gathering of ten. The elegant dining area was ideal for celebrating a special 70th birthday dinner and with two local pubs and a nearby shop, we had everything we needed for a relaxing long weekend away.

Ideal family rendezvous

Lovely old house with good facilities including the swimming pool and games room. Kitchen facilities a little spread out within 2 rooms but otherwise made an enjoyable stay and the children loved it.

MAGNIFICENT HOLIDAY HOUSE

The Court House, along with its large well kept gardens, made an ideal venue for our family weekend gathering of nine people (consisting three generations) and Labrador dog to celebrate a 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Loved the court house

Absolutely brilliant week at this property, the house is warm and inviting and so much character, everybody loved their time there, the owner was very accommodating to our requests and extremely helpful, if you are looking for a holiday with an amazing historical property then this is the place for you , close to a great pub/restaurant, close to the station, close to Oxford, Stowe gardens, Bletchley Park, Blenheim palace, and soho farmhouse, an ideal location.

Interesting historic house with plenty of space. we stayed for a family New Year Break.

The House was very individual, historic and interesting. We enjoyed our stay in what was the coldest week of the year. Needed to use both fireplaces to keep warm. Our only disappointment was the pool, which despite intervention from the owner only eventually reached 24C and was advertised as being kept at 26C. For reference public pools are normally 27C. Think it would be fine in the summer but not a comfortable temperature for swimming.

Perfect weekend in a beautiful house

We had a fabulous weekend here. The house and the garden were both amazing, and Victoria was the perfect host. The location could not have been better either. Right in the centre of a beautiful village, a stone's throw from an excellent pub that served great food.

Amazing stay.

We adored the house. 10 friends who simply wanted to spend time together. The host was so amazing and helpful supplying really good local stuff to do around the village it’s so central and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The bedrooms are enormously comfortable and huge log fire really comfy and homely. Thanks Victoria and Nala for making us so welcome.

Excellent accommodation in a great location

A superb property with excellent accommodation, the pool was a great asset. We all enjoyed the weekend. The AGA cooker took some getting used to, but it provided adequate cooking facilities. The microwave wasn’t conveniently placed, a small negative in an otherwise perfect holiday house.

Stunning, period property; absolutely perfect for a family get together.

Amazingly clean and comfortable, especially nice to sit in the kitchen by the Aga and play games. Loads of space for all the family to spread out and be together and possibly one of the best properties for dogs that we've been to; especially the garden - perfect for whippet zoomies! Victoria was on hand and very helpful whenever we needed. We will definitely consider coming back again!

Wow!

What a beautiful home in a picturesque village - this ticked every box, charm, character, space & amenities. All rooms were great sizes, Bathrooms clean with every thing you needed in them - the swimming pool and sauna were a great addition…and we even managed to play some croquet in the beautiful garden! Victoria was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The town has 2 local pubs and train station very close by.

Wonderful home for a special birthday weekend

The Court House is an amazing historical home with so many unique features. We loved the wonky floors, Suffolk latches, huge fireplaces and incredible beams in the old Courtroom itself. The garden was delightful as well but the standout feature for our family with four grandchildren under 9 was the pool! We couldn’t get them ou!. The adults enjoyed the sauna too. A wonderful place to stay for a whole family getaway.

Wonderful Christmas Cottage Getaway

Just had to provide a review as my extended family and I (5 adults, 4 kids) just stayed at the Courthouse to celebrate a wonderful Christmas. Property was perfectly placed (steps from great pub) in small town with kids parks and rambling pathways, and really close to motorway access to lots of attractions. Property was really well furnished, super cosy yet lots of space, and the host was unbelievably attentive and proactive in answering or resolving any question / ask we had. And of course the pool was amazing for tiring out the younger kids.

Unforgettable stay at the Court House in the beautiful Cotswold area of the UK.

Beautiful, well appointed, full of art and character, and close to so many interesting places, the Court House was perfect for our group of 10 family/friends. Comfortable big bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, a wonderful kitchen and dining area plus two sitting rooms, a game room and a pool and sauna. Gardens surrounding the house, a washer and dryer, and of course a couple of pubs close by. Kings Sutton is a charming town close to good supermarkets, with a train station that can take you to Oxford and other nearby towns. A historical village in the midst of the beautiful countryside of the Cotswold. The management of the property was kind and prompt with any answers or requests. I would certainly use them again, and apparently they manage other properties as well. Highly recommend.

A wonderful gem in a beautiful spot

The house was absolutely stunning! Beautiful character whilst remaining comfortable and clean. The pool and sauna were wonderful however the pool was a little cold but it didn't stop the fun. Some of the showers lacked a little pressure but with so many to chose from it wasn't a problem. It was the perfect home for getting together as a family. Easy to find and in a stunning location for walks and pubs. Cannot recommend the Rose and Crown in the nearby town enough - the landlord was amazing!

Gorgeous house in a lovely location!

We stayed at The Court House for a long weekend for a special family get together and a group that included 3 generations. The house had everything we needed and was set up perfectly for a large group of couples and children. The host was on hand to help with a couple of questions during our stay and quick to respond which we appreciated. The pool was a brilliant amenity to have and everyone, especially the kids, made good use of it. The village is really well served with two pubs, a shop and large children's playground within walking distance. We'd definitely recommend The Court House!

wonderful visit

A magical setback in time in a beautiful and well maintained grand building crammed full of history, with modern elements skilfully inserted so as not to destroy the atmosphere. It proved to be the perfect setting for a diamond wedding anniversary get together for three generations of a family of 10. An ample supply of logs for the wood burner, beds voted as being some of the most comfortable ever slept in, a well equipped sauna and swimming pool ready for our use, lovely lounges, a large well equipped kitchen area come dining room, ensured an overall vote of perfection. Victoria went out of her way to make our time as comfortable as possible; our grateful thanks go to her for all that she did. A memorable and enjoyable visit.

Wonderful property gave us the perfect family weekend

We were a group of 11 aged 14-84. The Court House provided us with so many options to occupy party members. The pool and sauna were well used, The weather was with us for early April and we were able to sit and eat outdoors. We used the croquet set for a series of overly-competitive games. The family chefs made good use of the Aga and kitchen. The bedrooms were very comfortable and configured well for our group’s needs. Great circular walls from the village of Kings Sutton which is on a direct line from Marylebone for those not travelling by road .

Lovely old historical house but needs updating

There were 11 of us staying at this beautiful old historical house in Kings Sutton. We had a lovely stay and there is plenty of space for a party of this size but all of our guests felt the house needed a bit of TLC. The furnishings and a lot of the kitchen equipment needs replacing and the house could do with some maintenance and a deep clean. (kitchen and main living room) Also, It didn't spoil our weekend but it should be made clearer in the information provided by Stay Cotswolds that you do not have exclusive access to the house, the owners use the pool and were walking through the garden on a number of occasions while we were sunbathing on the terrace. The house itself is impressive and the village lovely, but for these two factors above, and our experience of staying in equal sized properties as a family whereby the houses have been immaculate, I'm very sorry, I wouldn't recommend to a friend.

A lovely house with large gardens and swimming pool

We are a family of 3 generations of the same family and a dog. The house catered very well for all of us. There were 6 bedrooms, 2 lounges, the smaller one used at times by grandson doing his university homework with no interruptions. Also 2 kitchens and only fridge used in smaller one. No problem with us all eating together in the large kitchen/dining room and playing board games. The swimming pool was great fun for the family and used everyday, also a table tennis table which was also well used. All in all we had a lovely time there. On occasions the owners dogs walked in but were no trouble

Ideal for Summer; not for Winter

Lovely old house with lots of charm and character. Would have been lovely over a balmy summer weekend. But we went in March: Friday until Monday. The first night we were all bitterly cold. The heating had barely lifted the temperature. The thick walls kept the temperature unacceptably low. After complaining, the heating was put fully on and more firewood provided for the wood burner and temperature became just about acceptabe. But one would not describe the house as warm and snug even then.
