(5BR/5.5BA,1K,8Q, SLP16, 2 golf carts, Sunday Turn in Peak Season, CHECK OUT 10:00AM / CHECK IN 5:30PM) Sandbagger is an unforgettable oceanfront home-just steps from the sand- offering hypnotic panoramas of the Atlantic.

This welcoming five bedroom, 5.5 bath luxury beach haven spoils with a full bathroom, television, DVD player, telephone and work area in each bedroom. Cross the deep rocking-chair covered front porch and enter this reverse floor plan into an oversize open foyer/living area brimming with light from myriads of windows. This gathering space delights with mesmerizing beach vistas, an entertainment center and a large island/snack bar with a wet bar and mini-fridge. It also provides access to a spacious oceanside covered porch. Linger here and relish the soothing sounds of waves breaking on the shore or step down to your private beach walk and stroll to your own sun deck and/or South Beach. Back inside, this level also houses four spacious Queen suites, each furnished with two Queens and each housing its own full bath ensuite and access to its own private porch.

Upstairs, you enter another large open living space accented by a soaring cove ceiling, warm hardwoods and bright sunshine and anchored by a lovely decorative fireplace. This is fronted by another covered porch-perfect for watching dolphins playing in sparkling water. The newly renovated dining room provides comfortable seating for twelve. Eat here or dine al fresco on the screened dining porch. The chef's kitchen boasts stainless Kitchen Aid appliances, quartz counters and an ample central island/breakfast bar; but its best feature is its jaw-dropping view of Frying Pan Shoals.

For those in your party wanting additional privacy, the home's detached crofter grants it in first-class style via a very generous King suite with its own kitchenette, dining set, laundry, full bath and ocean-facing sundeck. Sandbagger's additional amenities include internet, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, grill and infant accommodations and support through WWP's 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends. There are no bicycles at this property but they can be rented through rental companies on the island.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON CLUBS: Both clubs are independent from WWP or any WWP properties. As such, all arrangements for temporary memberships must be handled by renters directly with the Clubs. Renters are strongly encouraged to make desired reservations with the club immediately upon booking, and also to become familiar with club policies, procedures, and schedules. The privacy can’t be understated here - the location puts you smack in between two public beach access points with your own private boardwalk to the beach so when we were on the sand it was empty for like 1/5mile on either side. The boardwalk offers some gorgeous, soothing atmosphere and the back porch is an absolute dream spot - perfect for an evening piña colada. Points off for cleanliness. My bathroom had smudges on the glass which makes me question the rest of the surface sanitation, there was trash left in a cupboard downstairs and obvious general strokes taken when sweeping and mopping as noticed by the crumbs and dusts and stuff along various baseboards. Kitchen is stocked only okay - a mishmash of 1000 previous renters leaves you with 50 baking sheets and no sharp knives, odd choices for serving dishes and a half decent blender. Plenty of forks and knives and plates - bowls notoriously under represented. Great big fridge and the oven/stove seemed to work well enough. The grill was dirty and needs some serious love but we grilled steaks and survived. Rooms are adequate, not spartan but not brimming with character. Beds are comfortable and sheets were all clean. Bathrooms are updated and spacious. The screened in porch is an excellent sitting room. The living space upstairs is open and asking for family togetherness while the downstairs a more small group space with a giant island taking up too much space (we couldn’t get the TV to work down there).Overall good

Sandbagger - Nice with potential to be Great!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sandbagger was a great property. It was probably the cleanest beach house we have ever rented. The location was great, it was beach forward of the neighboring homes so you felt like you were out there by yourself and even from the non-beach side, the neighboring homes were nearly invisible. The bedrooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. The wood floors throughout were a great touch. That said, while we loved the house, and would want to rent it again; there are some upgrades (mostly minor) that should be done in order to command such a premium price (~$10K / week with taxes, club charges, insurance, etc.). The kitchen appliances & countertops seemed substandard and didn’t seem comparable with the rest of the house. A significant number of light bulbs were burnt out and with the exception of one lower floor, the TV’s need to be upgraded (most are all old 4:3 tube TV’s). Lastly, while the carts carried a lot of people (one 6 person & one 8 person) – the 8 person was so large it was very difficult to drive and the brakes were dangerously non-existent. One last nice touch would be a celling in fan in the beautiful screened-in porch on the non-beach side that gets no breeze. On the reservation front, confirm the Ferry reservations with the BHI Ferry Company yourself – they were made for the wrong week by Wendy Wilmot and it took many emails and phone calls to correct.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house functioned very well for everyone. The extra large bedrooms with twin queens gave each person particularly good space, and the large bathrooms with each bedroom were a pleasure. We didn't use the large crofter, but could imagine how comfortable it would be. The operative word for the house is spacious. The furnishings could use updating as you know. My only real negative was the deplorable condition of the two barbeques. The gas bbq was unusable, and the kettle bbq would have been okay with a new grill. We managed once with aluminum pans on the grill that we had to scrub without much satisfaction. No food should go near these disgusting cooking surfaces, ever. If the housekeepers would check after each rental, any new bbqs could be kept in a heathful, a more usable, and a better condition. Everything considered, we all would come back for another visit. A service order has been issued for the grill, and the owner and property manager are working together to resolve the problem and ensure that the property offers each renter the Best of Bald Head. Not just another week at the beach

Didn't have a key for the crofter for a couple of days. But the worst thing was the floors, both in the house and the crofter. For those who were barefoot, feet were filthy, and socks were the same way. They were really dirty. Overall though, the house was great. We find this unacceptable and have spoken at great length with the cleaning crew. Finally, I am deeply sorry that the keys to the crofter were not available to you during the first few days of your stay.
