Part of a small collection of cottages, you’ll also have access to the shared swimming pool at the sister complex (1.5 miles by car ), which includes a games room, bar and shop. Explore South Devon with its heritage coastline and fabulous mix of pristine beaches and bays, impressive cliffs and fossils to find, picturesque villages and rolling green landscape. Beer is a picture-postcard seaside village (13 miles); from there you could even walk along the South West Coast Path to Seaton. Pretty Lyme Regis and its famous harbour are 10 miles away, just over the border in West Dorset. Inland, Axminster (5.5 miles) makes a fabulous place to stock up, look around or have a coffee and a bite to eat.

This former stable has been sympathetically converted and is beautifully presented, affording traditional character and contemporary comfort. Climbing a small flight of stairs, you’ll enter this sleek property via the veranda and instantly feel welcome and relaxed. The whole group can hang out together in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, meaning you can spend as much time together as possible. But clever zoning makes the space work well if you want to do different things, too. Open the French doors from the lounge to get that indoor/outdoor vibe, or to access your private verandah. Dine alfresco at the table and chairs while admiring the stunning view or, in colder weather, snuggle up in the lounge around the electric feature fire. When the long day of adventuring is done, there’s a choice of two en-suite bedrooms – one king-size bedroom and one super-king-size that can be reconfigured as a twin for great flexibility.

Guests can soak up the stunning views of the Devon countryside and shared garden from the lounge, or opening the French doors head out to spend time on the furnished verandah with its private sunken hot tub. Parking is no problem, with two spaces allocated.
