Welcome to the Kump House, circa 1802—a beautifully restored historic property that once housed the local blacksmith shop during the Civil War. This one-of-a-kind stay blends museum-quality craftsmanship with today’s conveniences, offering guests the rare opportunity to live history in comfort and style.



    The home comfortably sleeps up to six guests with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upstairs you’ll find one queen bedroom and one full bedroom, while the downstairs features another full bedroom for added convenience. A cozy woodstove anchors the living space, perfect for gathering after a day outdoors, and some modern updates ensure an easy and comfortable stay.



    Set on a peaceful three-acre tract, the property is surrounded by nature and history. Guests can walk to the North River or explore Ice Mountain, making this retreat a true paradise for hikers, birdwatchers, and anyone who loves the outdoors. Evenings are best spent around the fire pit or grilling dinner while taking in the quiet beauty of the surroundings. Dogs are welcome too, so you don’t have to leave your four-legged friends behind.



    Just two hours from Washington, DC, the Kump House is an unforgettable place to relax, reconnect, and experience a piece of American history—whether for a weekend escape or a longer stay.
