Cozy 1 BR Maine lakeside cottage getaway with WiFi, laundry, and full kitchen.
Your cozy getaway awaits in Augusta at this charming lakeside cottage. With 1 bedroom featuring a plush queen bed, it's the perfect retreat for couples or solo guests. Amenities include WiFi, in-window AC in the bedroom + overhead fans in kitchen & living room, full kitchen, and a washer/dryer. A ramp, walk-in shower with grab bars, and a low step into the house make it friendly for people with mobility issues. There is a large deck out front with a table and chairs for outdoor dining, and a smaller deck out back. The yard is fenced and we allow visitors to bring one large dog or two medium/small dogs (not a puppy!) with a refundable depositâif you have multiple large dogs, please contact us and we'll talk about it. Early risers will be rewarded with pastel sunrises over still waters; night owls can watch the stars reflect in the water from the back deck. Relax in the recliner and listen to the loons calling, golf at the nearby links, walk down by the Kennebec River, visit historic Old Fort Western, go antiquing in Hallowell, or bring your fishing rod and try for bass or pickerel in the pond. Our property provides a comfortable and inviting home away from homeâoff the beaten path, but it's only a 15- to 20-minute drive to restaurants, shopping, and more.
The house was lovely and contained numerous thoughtful amenities. The fenced-in yard was perfect for our Great Pyrenees, and the proximity to the water (Dam Pond) was ideal. Sunsets were truly beautiful. One suggestion for future visitors would be a BBQ grill. We truly enjoyed our stay, and the owner, Elizabeth, was helpful and amiable. We would definitely consider a return. Our biggest problem was the 8-9 hour drive from NJ.
Lovely, quiet place on Dam Pond. With the windows open, I could hear the loons at night and in the morning. The cottage is the perfect size for one or two people and was well-stocked. I appreciated that the owner stocked decent paper towels and toilet paper. Boxes of Kleenex would also be helpful. There was one hot day when I closed the windows and used the air conditioner and ceiling fans - they were enough to keep the house reasonably cool for me and my little dog. Two things that can't be helped were the proximity to the road (sound of cars going by) and the number of deer flies - the latter made me reluctant to spend much time out in the yard (hence the four stars). But even with that, we had a lovely time. It was a good jumping off place to visit local sites - I went whale- and puffin-watching out of Boothbay Harbor.
The house was adorable and so clean! The views of the water were just what we were looking for. The owner was very attentive and responded quickly. A nice quiet place to go and relax! Would definitely recommend and stay there again!
This property was perfect for us and our labs. The house was very comfortable on a beautiful pond. We saw beaver, mallards, loons, and bald eagles. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate in during our stay. The host was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
A relaxing and sweet place to stay. We really needed a break, and this was just the right place. There was no coffee or oil or spices... so bring your own! Plenty of quality cookware. We loved the wildlife and flowers
Great cozy cabin is a great quite getaway. We enjoyed bird watching. The loon on the lake was so cool n there's chipmunks running around. My dog loved watching them. Awesome place to rebalance in life.
Wonderful relaxing waterfront home. Off the grid. Plenty of amenities. Very relaxing and comfortable vrbo never sent access code but renter quick response to assist in entering properly. No check out instructions sent either by vrbo prior to check out.
Everything about the cottage made us feel at home. It was very well kept and our hosts did everything possible to make us feel welcome. We were looking forward to the water view and it did not disappoint!
Very comfortable house. My husband enjoyed the fishing.
My dog loved the fenced in yard. He really liked eating the acorns!
