The Red Dragon House

The Red Dragon House is a great location for those who wish to discover Ashland, along with the southern Rogue Valley, but still get that rural feeling while remaining only minutes from town. The single-story house is spacious at nearly 1,000 square feet, and features mountain views of the southern Rogue Valley. The house features a large open living room/kichen area, with lots of counter space, two well-appointed bedrooms and a bathroom shower, suitable for those with mild handicaps, and has three decks from which to choose, all on a property that is 5.2 acres, in a rural neighborhood, that's quiet. All this only five minutes from the nearest restaurants and markets, and ten minutes from Downtown Ashland, and the Mt. Ashland Ski Area is only 19 miles away!

While the neighborhood is quiet, it should be mentioned that the property is adjacent to I-5, which makes getting to us easy, but does provide some road noise. So, if it's total quiet you require, this may not be the best fit for you, though the there is no road noise inside the house.

Charming

The property was cheerful and comfortable in a lovely setting. There is a helpful welcome book and all the cabinets are labelled.The only low note is that I got lost getting there. If you start in the middle of town, Main St. splits at one point. The right side takes you where you want to go. The left leads you to California.

A couple of things

Nice house, kind hosts next door, great dog set up. Two things to be aware of: the property is double gated, gates set off by car on the way out, so you can't walk off the property. Unless there is some hidden button that is not obvious or in the house instructions...The coffee set up is Keurig only, so bring your own gear if you care!

Quaint but close to everything

The house was extremely cozy and comfortable. It was fairly isolated and yet only 10 minutes away from good breakfast spots and everything else. We also were able to meet the horses which was very fun. We didn't have pets but the house seemed perfect for anyone with them. Only bummer i guess was that we weren't able to sign into Netflix, but that's super minor. We just ended up watching a ton of cold case files haha would 100% stay again

Daughter’s Birthday Trip

The owners provided detailed instructions on how to find and access the property. The home is delightfully decorated with dragons galore. I considered counting them all, but soon gave up the plan as too time-consuming! The property feels remote, with views of the hills. The house is surrounded by grass, trees, and a fence obscuring the farther houses. We couldn’t hear the freeway from the house. The hosts live next door, and greeted us briefly when we arrived. Mike introduced us to their horses, and we enjoyed watching them gambol in the nearby pasture. The house is comfortably furnished and has everything you’d need. The house manual provides clear and complete instructions and information. Signs and labels help you find what you need. These experienced hosts have created a charming place to retreat, relax, and explore the area.

Family Visit

Situated just outside of town. Secluded and quiet. House is comfortable and encourages relaxation. Kitchen is well stocked. Beds are quite comfortable. Mike and Mindy are house proud of their rental and it shows in the attention to details.

What a fabulous getaway

A truly wonderful home away from home. A great space that feels like a stay out in the country, but just a 10 minute drive to all that downtown Ashland has to offer. The best stocked vacation rental we’ve ever stayed with. The attention to detail to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible was evident in every aspect of the home. All with plenty of space to spread out, inside and out.

Lovely, comfortable home, excellent hosts!

We were introducing ourselves to Ashland and were not disappointed. A nice selection of good dog-friendly restaurants, fun bars, live music, etc. The house is amazing with so many thoughtful extras and super clean. Just a few minutes drive into town. Perfect for the fur buddies, too. The posted description and photos are completely accurate—and you get even more perks and amenities. The hosts, and their dog Toby, are so friendly and helpful, it’s a pleasure. I give this property my highest recommendation.

Wonderful

This is our second time staying here. We love the property out and away from everything. Mike and Mindy are so helpful, and everything very neat and clean. After a long day of driving we enjoyed sitting on the back patio and relaxing before dinner. Hope to return next year.

Marvelous place to stay

This may have been our best stay ever at a B&B! The Red Dragon House is delightful, with it's imaginative and fun decor, tranquil outdoor areas and totally modern kitchen. Mike and Mindy, our hosts, provided so many thoughtful touches, including extras like a first aid kit, ice packs for picnics, filtered water and his and her Kleenex boxes. Everything was eell-labeled, and an instruction manual was provided. We were a family of four adults, and we all slept comfortably. It is also well-equipped for someone with mobility I so dues. I hope to stay there again some time!

Hands down this is one of my favorite places. It's beautiful inside and out. Quiet, private but a short drive to all things Ashland. Even my dog felt right at home. The hosts are so welcoming. The covered deck was perfect for morning coffees. I can't say enough good things.

Red Dragon Getaway

Very comfortable, well appointed house on the outskirts of Ashland. One of the best VRBOs I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. Not recommended to anyone without a GPS app, but I think that’s a very few. Good AC, an extensive selection of snacks, and coffee, tea and hot cocoa offered. We had a nice chat with Mike as we were checking out and got to meet the horses, Jack and Rose.

Red Dragon House

The Red Dragon House is a great place to stay in the Ashland area. The owners are on site and very responsive. It's not a long distance to downtown Ashland, about 5 miles. They are pet friendly and we will definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.

Perfect Home Away From Home

I would give the Red Dragon House ten stars if I could! The house is clean, fun, well-stocked and perfectly maintained, the location is breathtaking, and hosts Mindy and Mike are wonderful people. This was our second stay here and we’ll be back for certain.

Overnight stop

We stayed just for a night on our way down to CA from WA. Mike and Mindy's place was a great place to stop and was very quiet. It was comfortable and relatively close to town. It was nice to have coffee and snacks laid out for us.

Trip to Ashland

This was probably the best equipped vacation rental I’ve ever stayed in - Mike and Mindy have truly thought of everything! The kitchen is well equipped and everything is clearly labeled; the beds are comfortable; the dog yard is fully fenced with privacy fencing; the back patio is dreamy; the patio is lovely. I would recommend this to any and all! We had a wonderful time at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
