The house is very quaint and cozy. Brian did a great job of communicating and making sure that I had everything I needed. The location is perfect to walk to all of the main attractions in Arroyo Seco. I would definitely recommend staying here.

A cute and cozy cabin in Arroyo Seco. Brian is a very kind host, responds to messages with promptness. He made sure our check in went well letting us know he would be available if we needed anything. We really enjoyed our stay. 100% recommended.

Host was very helpful. Place was very cool in the heart of Arroyo Seco which so such a great little town. A wonderful cafe and restaurant are basically next door.

The Royal Bear Lodge was charming and perfect for our needs. We enjoyed our time here, especially as the snow fell.Highlights: -Hot tub was amazing after a day of snowboarding. We turned off all the lights and were able to see tons of stars at night.-Very quiet and peaceful. Though there are neighbors nearby, we still had privacy and never felt intruded on. -The host was kind and responsive. I appreciated the guide left in the living room and the note cards indicating lighting and use instructions.- If you need to go to the store or get something to eat, there's an organic market/cafe 2 doors down. -While we did not make full use of the kitchen, it was nice that there was a toaster oven/air fryer to use.-Multiple heat sources including the gas heater, wood stove, and space heaters so we were cozy. Things to consider:-The WiFi is a little spotty. I had online homework to do and had to use my husband's hotspot to finish it, so would recommend either bringing a hotspot/using your phone as a hotspot if you need to access WiFi, or plan to do work/homework somewhere else.-A small thing, but bath towels were on the shabbier side. Thankfully we had brought our own and used them primarily.- This place allows pets which is a nice perk, but we did find some tufts of animal hair in the creases of the couch and dried up dog poop on the deck, so something to consider if you have allergies or aren't fond of pets.

Cabin needs help

This was my first VRBO experience. Myself and one family member rented the cabin for two nights. It was very dark with wires to lights running all over and extremely unsafe. My daughter is a firefighter. To my standards it was dirty and screens to windows are hanging, microwave didn’t turn, old icky hot tub and stains on bedding and the irrigation drip system was on during the rain and leaks. Quite frankly it was so disappointing we discussed turning around and coming home. There are just too many unsafe and substandard items to list here. I was glad I took my sleeping bag and my pillows and sheets. The deck upstairs has huge gaps and cigarette butts. No way was I going to use the hot tub. The curtains need a good washing and the floors were filthy. I looked for a swiffer but only could find a dirty old mop that would only have been unsanitary. The little village was very nice and a life saver. I cannot believe this place could be up to code. Some lights when turned on quiver as if there is a short or open and seem very unsafe. It was expensive for what you get. We would never go back and had wished we stayed in a hotel. Personally, I have traveled quite a bit and to various countries and this cabin was my worst experience. The wood pile up against the house should be moved. The outside area was so junky I did not want to sit on anything amongst weeds and debris.I hesitated to write this review, but it is bad enough I think others should know.

Quick NM getaway

We stayed for two nights. Great location away from crowds. The space had good energy and was very comfortable. We really enjoyed having some good food just steps from the front door from 2 great restaurants. I'd definitely stay again. Looking forward to it. Thanks.

Wonderful location, great for retreat

The property is in the heart of the village, but feels like a forest retreat.Just enough people around to not feel secluded, and to still have peace & quiet. The surroundings are peaceful, with amazing views of the sunrise, sunset, mountains, and dark night skies for star gazing on the deck, in the hot tub

Great location, nice southwest charm, well furnished.When required to use a heat source, difficult to regulate temperature upstairs with all heat rising from living area. Figure opening window or door to regulate temperature.

Arroyo Seco

Just loved the feel of this place. Not far from Taos. Very cozy. Some people complained on reviews about the staircase but it was not something that was of concern. I think it gave it charm. Better than I expected

Loved our stay

We loved our stay! The house is stylish, clean and truly special not to mention in an amazing location. It is a mere two minute walk to a cute local market, tasty restaurants and charming shops. The sunset view and the star-gazing from the jacuzzi on the balcony were the icing on the cake. We appreciated being able to build a fire and watch a great movie on Amazon Prime. It was the most spectacular birthday getaway ever. Brian was a great host and gave us great suggestions for things to do in the area. We will be back.

No internet and Owner Lied about it. Only 1 bedroom.

Tv wasnt working when arrived and then 12 hours later internet no longer worked.Internet provider informed me owner oeed $352. 04. Owner ( Brian Hammer) lied about it and said internet was out due to bad weather. WARNING:One bed comes from wall in closet and IS NOT a bedroom!!! When told owner to pay bill, he suggested we leave the premises! Owner REFUSED to refund 5% of money back due to problems!!!! IF YOU WANT TERRIBLE SERVICE AND BE LIED TO AND DISRESPECTFED, STAY HERE!

Great experience

Arroyo Seco had two wonderful restaurants in walking distance that we tried. Brian was a very gracious host. This place is cute, and I could see it being very nice for a family--kids downstairs and adults with a space of their own in the loft.

The perfect cabin

Cozy cabin that has it all. We had the best time and the location is perfect for a ski trip of a lifetime in Taos Ski Valley. Very clean and the sheets smelled like home. Easy checkout process. Jacuzzi was warm upon arrival. Loved starting a wood fire but plenty of other options for heating.

Taos ski getaway

Absolutely loved this little place. It was cozy and romantic and perfectly located between taos and taos ski valley. Plus there are a few delicious restaurants within walking distance
