This was our family's 5th year of renting the FSL for our family vacation and, as always, it was a great, relaxing vacation! The cottage and surrounding area are impeccably maintained, and the owners are great to deal with and make the whole process as easy as it could possibly be. Our grandchildren don't even want to look at other locations for vacation because the FSL has become our vacation home away from home!

Wonderful place to gather with family. We spent most of our time in the great room and around the huge handcrafted wooden table. The grill served us well one evening, but we didn't get a chance to try out the fire pit. The coffee beans from a local coffee company were a nice touch.

Wonderful property, very clean and family friendly. Dan and Heidi provide clear instructions and their house is a true gem! We hope to visit again in the future.

Perfect Property

Everything at this lovely home was perfect and beautifully presented. The coffee bar was outstanding but everything about the property was. We especially enjoyed the large fire pit and the large dining room table, our favorite gathering spots. 10/10

Family fun

Great house! Just what we were looking for after 20 years at Deep Creek Maryland. Enjoyed everything about the house, especially the game room, fire pit and coffee bar. Was a wonderful getaway with family.

What a great house and so well equipped. We had a great time over Thanksgiving with our multiple families. Can’t say enough good things about this property. Everything was perfect.

Great Family Christmas Stay

We loved the layout and the ability to have the kids play in the game room and watch movies downstairs. The furniture is beautiful!

Amazing stay!

The hosts were amazing - they were communicative, flexible, and extremely welcoming. The check in instructions and items listed on the airbnb were very accurate. We especially loved the coffee bar, jukebox, and campfire. It was a quiet and friendly neighborhood with hiking opportunities nearby. Would definitely recommend!!

This is the kind of place where you can take advantage of the outdoors in a beautiful rural setting or act like you’re on a space station and entertain yourself for days without ever leaving the house.

Women's Weekend 2024

This is our 4th year in a row coming here. The place is amazing, very clean and has enough space to stretch out. All 13 of us can eat at the table at once which is nice! Already scheduling again for next year! You will never go anywhere else after staying here.

This place has so many nice extras! The Breville coffe machine was a hit for us this weekend. We enjoyed the deck and all its seating. The interior is beautiful! The pictures do not do it justice.

Great PSU Weekend

We had a fantastic time at the property. It was extremely clean snd very well appointed. Dan and Heidi were extremely responsive to any of our questions. All appliances and furniture wete in excellent condition. We're looking forward to another visit in the future! We highly tecommend the property!

Gorgeous home

Our wedding party friends and family stayed here and the property was just stunning! Clean, beautiful, spacious! We wish we could’ve stayed longer. The owners were quick to respond and had very easy to follow directions both for check in and check out. They were even generous enough to let us check in early because it was not occupied the night before! Can’t wait to refer this home to friends and family in the future!

Excellent stay!

This was my 3rd time staying at a vrbo property and it was by far the best one yet!! From the towel warmer in the guest bedroom, to the jukebox in the finished basement to the espresso/cappuccino/latte machine at the coffee bar to the well stocked firewood at the firepit where we had a fire every night. It was spectacular and you will not be disappointed.

Relaxing Long Weekend

Squirrel Lodge was a fantastic place to stay for us. It was very clean and had all of the kitchen items we needed to prepare meals and enjoy them with family and friends. Dan and Heidi were extremely helpful and responsible throughout the trip. The cabin was in a quiet and peaceful location but close enough to grocery stores and restaurants if one needed supplies or wanted to go out to eat. Overall, I highly recommend the cabin for groups of friends and/or family. It is well appointed and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay as we did. Thanks for your hospitality, Dan and Heidi!

Our family had a wonderful time at Squirrel Lodge. The home was beautiful & had everything we needed. Lots of memories were made at the lake, fishing & Del Grosso amusement & water park. This place is amazing! Very clean, has everything you can imagine. So much room we never use half the place. If you like being outside there is an amazing fireplace or you can just sit on the back porch and enjoy the views. There is actually a table that can sit everyone. We have a group between 10 and 12 each year. Very easy to communicate with owners if you have any questions or concerns. Highly recommend!!

This was out fourth straight year vacationing at the FSL and, as always, it was a wonderful relaxing experience! Both grown-ups and children can always find something to do at the FSL. Whether it be playing games in the game room, playing arcade games, catching a movie in the theater room, relaxing on the deck or just chilling at the firepit together, the FSL has something to offer everyone. The hosts Dan and Heidi are wonderful to work with and make the whole process as easy as it can get! We highly recommend the FSL for your next family vacation or weekend getaway--you won't be disappointed!!

Girls Weekend 2023

Wonderful as usual, this was our third year staying here. Already making reservations for next year. The location is beautiful and quite. Always something to do in Raystown while others sit outside and play cornhole or lay in the hammock and read or play Pac-Man inside. They even have a play station with games if you prefer. Easy check-in and out. Very clean and they always go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and ensure your stay is perfect. Room for everyone so you can spread out!

Consistently excellent!

This was the third straight year our family vacationed at the Flying Squirrel Lodge and it continues to be our vacation home away from home! The FSL continues to provide just a wonderful setting for a private, peaceful and welcoming vacation. All of the amenities the home offers (jukebox, arcade video games, coffee station, etc...) all just serve to further enhance your stay. The owners, Dan and Heidi, are wonderful to work with, make the whole process very simple and could not be more accommodating. We would highly recommend the FSL for your next family vacation or get away weekend and believe that you will not be disappointed with this choice.

Great family spot!

Our yearly family vacation was held at Flying Squirrel Lodge, a wonderful place to stay! The lodge was immaculate, with many amenities. The coffee bar was a big hit, as was the jukebox. The fire pit was used nightly. After full days at Raystown Lake (only 25 min. away), the specialty shampoo, conditioner, & soap in the large walk-in showers were a luxury. The babies really enjoyed the deep bathtub. Our family highly recommends FSL!
