A pleasant overnight stay at a traditional inn

A very pleasant stop over. The new Landlord and Landlady could not have been more helpful although they had only been in charge for a couple of days. The kitchen was not yet up and running so they recommended an alternative restaurant together with detail instructions as to how to find it. I will not hesitate to recommend The Bridge Inn to friends and relatives and we shall certainly call again when in that lovely area of the country.

We were very chuffed with our family room with a view of the river. Very clean and great quality continental breakfast provided in our room.

Ottima soluzione ma occhio al pagamento!

Posizione strategica e struttura molto gradevole. Occorrente per la colazione presente nella stanza e in buona quantità, refillata ogni giorno. Unica pecca: attenzione al pagamento. Il personale ci ha chiesto di pagare in loco (in contanti perchè casualmente non funzionava il bancomat) e una volta tornati a casa abbiamo constatato di aver già pagato online al momento della prenotazione, morale: pagamento doppio e nessuna risposta dalla struttura per ottenere il rimborso!

Great place to stay when holidaying in South Wales

We enjoyed our visit to the Bridge Inn. The room was large and had table & chairs. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Overall the room was clean and quiet although being an older establishment, some of the floor coverings were showing their age. Supermarkets were just down the road within walking distance. Enjoyed a cider with the locals in the downstairs bar. Highly recommended as being excellent value for money.

Relax by the river

Hotel was set by the river and had our room had a good view of the river and the bridge. A well catered continental breakfast - along with a fridge was in the room. Evening meals were not available - Monday and Tuesday, but the Indian restaurant would deliver. The hostess was very welcoming and helpful, a snug little pub.

Disappointing accomodation in good location.

One of the reasons for selecting the Bridge Inn was the Menu, but this did not exist, in fact there was only food available two of the three nights we stayed. The rooms were not serviced during our stay, and the Continental breakfast was in the rooms and top up of items had to be requested. Difficult to wash the bowls, cups & plates in the hand basin with no plug. Room 1 very noisy, road and bar.

An inn with a warm welcome.

We enjoyed our stay here. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, it had a fridge and microwave oven. Continental breakfast was provided and fresh milk and yoghurts and fruit juice were in the fridge which was very handy. Would recommend this inn as where it is situated is very close to the town of Abergavenny and all its amenities. A lovely place to stay and well worth a visit.

could have been a 5 stars review, but spoilt by a

First with the good stuff: The room was comfortable, clean and the staff were nice and helpful. There was one thing which left me a bit confused though. On the second day, we got back to our room to find it had not been cleaned and made up. I went to the reception to find out why and the guy apologised and said that that he would have sent somebody straight away to fix this. The lady that deals with the rooms came, but she just asked me what breakfast food we needed and if we also needed towels. She gave me the food and towels and that was it. I even asked her if it hadn't been cleaned because I forgot to hang the sign on the door to say "please clean my room", but she said "no we just didn't get round to do it yet". So I assumed that it would have been cleaned later in the evening. But this didn't happen. I even had to wash the coffee mug in the bathroom so that I could have a coffee the next day. This is really didn't spoil the holiday, it's ok, it's just that when I book a bed & breakfast I am assuming I will get the room serviced. Otherwise I'd just go to a hostel. I suppose this will make no difference for guests who stay only one night. Other than that, the place is very nice and I'd recommend it.

Nice Stay

Staff and locals very welcoming; good beer. Room immaculate; huge, clean, modern yet comfy; bathroom very high quality with superb, hot, powerful shower that is better than most hotels. Although on a road that can be busy, double glazing was good and kept room quiet; nice view over river. Parking available but might be limited at times. Only downside was that I'd been expecting to eat but they didn't currently have a chef, so had to nip into town and buy a pizza, plus pub music could be heard until it closed. Handy place for visiting the hospital; would stay again as the room was great and the people very nice.

Really nice, recently redecorated room with huge comfy bed. Breakfast in the room was really nice as were other thoughtful touches. Will definitely stay again when next visiting friends in Abergavenny.
