"I came in December, which is their low season, so I was basically one of the very few people staying at the hotel. The receptionist was only around for the check-in. The cleaning staff only showed up once. The rest of the time, they expect you to call if you need help, which is not realistic for foreign travellers, especially if you are not fluent in French or Italian. The building is locked, so basic safety is not an issue. However, when the internet went out, I had no way to contact anyone...

"A brilliant construction and location in the stunning gorge location. Lovely room and large patio to enjoy breakfast alongside the roaring river. Parking was manageable at the roadside, and the lift ideal between floors. The owner and waitress were charming and informative, but we were both startled and disappointed at the continuing grumbles from the receptionist, especially when asked about messages that my daughter had sent there."

"I stayed at this hotel in the beginning of June. The room was ok but breakfast was very basic and the bar and restaurant were not open at all during our stay. Since the rooms had no facilities for making food this meant we had to go out for all meals. I'm not sure if this changes when the summer season starts (in July?) but it should be mentioned since we expected the facilities listed on hotels.com to be available to us."

"Very clean and modern. We had a large spacious room with 2 beds, one king and one twin. We had a little outside patio as well as a little table inside for eating. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Easy access to the old city but the walking is mostly uphill. Pool was very small, only for dipping not for swimming."

"This is not a luxury hotel, BUT if your interest is a calm "refuge" this is the place for you. It is located along the Restonica River. Grab a seat along the bank and take in the peace. The walls are a little thin. You can hear the people in the room next door taking a shower, but don't let that stop you from staying there. "Being 3 star, we were not expecting luxury and this hotel was clean and simple with all the main facilities needed, including an open air pool. Great views across the mountain on our balcony and friendly staff so no complaints. If you are looking for more luxury and facilities on tap, this may not be foe you, as there is no kettle, few plugs, no fridge, in the room and no restaurant on site etc, which in more modern hotels tends to come as standard these days. "It’s a good hotel, close to the centre, beach and the restaurants. The room we had was in the basement so nice and cool for summer stay but at the same time with very bad or no wifi signal. There is also a swimming pool available but we haven’t used it. If you’re heading for the beach you’ll need a parasol!! The local area is small but pretty. We have mainly stayed there for the boat ride to Scandola natural reserve which was mind blowing."
