"Situated near old San Diego"
The property is extremely vast, more than forty hectares of land. It's more like blocks of individual and independent motels. There are free mobile cars and the drivers that transport the guests right from reception to the designated room, both on arrival and departure (when leaving, just call the reception to come pick you up), and the drivers help with the luggage up to the room.
The interior of the room looks old but it is neat. There is a touch of the 50s or 60s to the decor, & those rustic, dry flowers outside! The environment is beautiful; lots of palm trees, flowers & birds. I love the setting of the sun and it's golden flame settling on roofs. Lots of conferences going on there and in different location but despite that, it is not a noisy place.
Everything is available within the compound; two ATMs, three to four restaurants with different varieties and there's a Starbuck coffee shop there. The staff are helpful, friendly and respectful.
Surprisingly, i discovered too late or perhaps, right on time that there is a big, luxury shopping mall right behind the hotel. Only a pedestrian bridge separated them. There at the mall, one can shop luxe goods such as Gucci, Chanel, Victoria Secret, etc. There are Macy's, Nordstrom, Sephora, Brightston, and lots and lots of them.
When within the compound of the hotel, it is easier to think that there is no other life out there, but going to this mall changed my thoughts. I went back there on the eve of my departure and i love it.
