What you can expect

Explore the fascinating Greek capital and its must-see landmarks. Learn the history of the city as your guide walks you through the imposing Temple of Zeus, the renowned Acropolis, and the world-famous Parthenon.

Immerse yourself in Greek mythology and see archaeological discoveries at the Metro Station Museum. Outside the Parliament you will watch the changing of the guard, where the uniforms are quintessentially Greek. The pleated kilts (or fustanella) and pom-pom-decorated footwear are sure to catch your attention.

As you move away from Syntagma Square, the most powerful god in Greek mythology waits for you. Marvel at the remains of the Temple of Zeus, and listen to your guide recounting the historical, mythological, architectural, and decorative details of the temple. On your way to the Temple you will pass by the National Gardens, the Zappeion and you will also admire the marvellous Hadrian's Arch.

Your next stop is the Acropolis—a UNESCO World Heritage Monument. Visit the Sanctuary of Dionysus and the open-air theatre, built in the 6th century BC. Atop the hill, stunning views open before you, including the remains of the Propylaea—monumental gateway—and the impressive Parthenon.

This exploration would not be complete without mentioning the importance of the Ancient Agora, the National Observatory of Athens and the city’s scenic hills: Filoppapos, Mars, and Pnyx.

The Covid19 Measures set by the Greek Government frequently change. Thus, it is advisable to check local restrictions applicable to indoor and outdoor activities.
