This is my second time staying at this hotel. Everything was great except one thing which was off putting. I was excited to eat at the restaurant inside the hotel, since I ate there last time and it was excellent (I love the hummus). Upon sitting down, being greeted by our server and ordering appetizers, the hostess approached me and my friends and requested to see a room card. I took out my room card and showed it to her, but she proceeded to ask for my room number as well. At this point I was not informed what the reason for her asking was. After she verified that I was a hotel guest, I asked her “why do you need to see my room card” and her response was “to verify you’re a hotel guest”. My friends and I are young and were dressed in an eccentric but appropriate way. To my understanding, the restaurant is open to the public and not just hotel guests as it is advertised from the street view. I found the entire interaction extremely rude and I feel that we were profiled as ‘not belonging’ in the place like this. I feel this is very wrong and inappropriate considering the price point of the restaurant. I ended up spending around $90 for my lunch and left with a sour feeling because of this woman. The main reason it bothered me is this; when I asked her why she needs to see my room card, she stated “its so that she can have my room number in case I want something sent to my room”. If I am sitting and actively eating lunch, why would she be arranging room service? It was a lie.
