Great location. Excellent staff. It can be a bit noisy. Not crazy but depending on which side of the building you are on and the day of the week… the garbage collection is a racket EARLY in the AM.

Due to an earlier flight in and a late flight out I asked to leave my luggage before check in and after check out. There was no question. I was even offered bottles of water to take as I headed back out sightseeing The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This hotel has many advantages, but on the whole, we would not stay here again. The strong points: (1) The room itself was large and lovely. Very comfortable and well-appointed. There’s a TV with Netflix and premium channels, an (empty) refrigerator, a nice shower with tub, and a large area around the sink for toilet articles. The A/C works well and there’s a decent view. (2) The breakfast is ample, though not a lot of gluten-free options – just fruit, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs. For others there are waffles, cereal, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, etc. (3) There’s a daily happy hour from 5-7 with free (and decent) wines, beer and mixed drinks, plus popcorn and snacks. (4) They provide free bottled water, as much as you want, at the front desk. (5) The location is excellent – right near Riverwalk and Magnificent Mile, and walking distance to Millennium Park. The main drawback is the lack of front desk staff – it doesn’t even feel like a real hotel. Often there is no one there at all or only support staff who don’t have authority to do anything (we had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to arrive who could check us in). They often don’t answer the phone at all, don’t respond to texts for long periods (even though they list it as the preferred mode of communication), and there is no information in the room about who to call about maid service, laundry, business center, etc.
