« Free parking and views of lake from the dining room were very good. Half board - the dinner was good but overpriced so the 10% service charge worked out extortionate. NOT GOOD We were put in a small loft room with a difficult door to open and a tight stair access- the room and whole property needs a lick of paint and could be cleaner. Location too far from bowness - walking into town is 20minutes but on both roads which had no pavement so very dangerous. Wouldn’t stay here again . »

« A delightful Inn overlooking the lake. We were assigned a lake view room which was very comfortable (#3, Brontë). The staff was helpful and friendly. They were also attending to a small wedding, but we felt valued and welcome. »

« Hillthwaite feels staying in a family home rather than a hotel and the warm welcome certainly matches. The room was spacious and bedding extremely comfortable, which was perfect for a mini break in the area. Extra points for the bathtub (in addition to a full shower)! Breakfast was excellent and the staff is lovely. »

« The hotel overall was very good from check in to check out. Our room was spacious, decor was in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Large bathroom with very nice powerful shower. The location was perfect for the lake and other amenities in Bowness just being a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was nice good choice and excellent service. Would definitely recommend. »
