Good Morning,Thank you for your feedback, St Ives is quite a hilly area and is not always suitable for those with less abled mobility, so it is always a good idea when travelling to check on google to see what the area that you are visiting is like before your travel. The rooms are NOT what they look like on the website. We booked Seaview but you could hardly see the view out of the window. Very dirty carpet and in general, not clean.

There was a problem with our booking. We booked and paid on 31st December and after a 5 hour drive to the hotel with a baby and a dog didn't want to hear that I hadn't booked and that there were no rooms available. Luckily there was a no-show and we were given a twin room. Also, the booking was found on the computer. The staff, especially the South African lady on reception, were very friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is superb. Overlooking a beach and a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. We were happy with our room. A little outdated but to update 300 rooms would cost several million I guess! Reception, dining room, and seating areas are very nicely furnished and decorated. We had a lovely weekend in the hotel.

Certainly handy for Porthminster beach and a short walk into the town, with easy free parking out front. Staff polite and friendly but hotel is very tired and our room was shabby. Decor, carpets and curtains very dated and worn. Bathroom sink was cracked and repaired with silicon, shower tap was damaged and difficult to adjust to maintain temperature, with only half a shower screen. As such, we decided to eat in St. Ives cafes and didn’t eat anything in the hotel so can’t comment on food. Disappointing.

I had a single room only. Fairly basic but comfortable enough for a 3 night stay. Sadly the shower pressure too low! Overall ok as a base for a short stay.

Absolutely loved being in StIves. This property was well placed within reasonable walking distance to town and amenities such as dining and transport. The room was clean and sea view was amazing as promised. My only complaint is that the hotel reception had a choking cigarette smell which made me really uncomfortable and nauseous every time I had to pass through

Outdated and run down building and decor. Hot water took an age to come through and the water pressure was terrible. Radiators rusty and TV not visible from the bed (behind wardrobe). Only one light in the room (main light), no reading lights, or lamps. Spare pillows in the wardrobe smelled damp. Breakfast only served between 8-9, so never managed to make it.

The property was good very satisfied water in room as in shower etc could have been hotter.we read on expedias site breakfast would be 5 pound each. But we were charged 10 pound a breakfast and was told it was only 5 if you ordered it on line but no where to order it on line. Apart from that very satisfied for what we paid

Very good, let us book in early. Very helpful chatty and frendly staff. A little run down in places but every effort made in decoration (decked out for christmas) breakfast was very good. The view over the beach and sea from our room was great.

The room wasn’t a superior with sea view as booked. The view was blocked by trees, which the hotel were aware of. The description for a superior room with bottled water, contemporary decor and amenities did not match the room we got. The room wasn’t clean and stunk. They said they’d re-clean it and hoover but they didn’t. The sane dirt was on the carpet when we went back in after going out. The staff were very unhelpful and said we couldn’t move as they had no other rooms available. They are mis-selling and charging extra for a superior room with a sea view but what you get is a budget standard room.

Good afternoon Julie, Thank you for your feedback,We are sorry that your view of the sea was blocked by tree's on the other side of the road, we have asked Cornwall council on several occasions about the trees and of felling them, however this is the responsibility of the local authority.You have not been mis sold a superior bedroom, you were allocated into a superior room as that is what you had booked with us. I will mention to our head Housekeeper of your feedback, and we are sorry that you found your room to be less than satisfactory.

Older property but does the job. Warm, very central for beaches, restaurants and pubs, transport (can see the rail station from the window.) Friendly staff. Did not have food out of choice, but dining area looked out onto sea front. Only gripe was that the shower, although piping hot, had virtually no pressure and the shower head could possibly do with replacing/descaling.

We had a lovely stay with a fantastic view over the beach,it was so nice to sit in the window & see the waves on the beach I know the decor could be updated but it didn’t bother us, the bed was very comfy as well

This is a dated property and it does not help that the room inside is stuffy and smelly. That means clothes and towels smell. We did ask for a proper hoovering as the carpet was full of dust and they did this for us. But you should not have to ask for a room to be properly cleaned before arrival right. Staff are lovely however. But the rooms need a deep clean. The windows as well as they are black with mould.
