Nice inn outside of London
We had a very pleasant stay at this charming inn. The inn, though old, is well kept and the surrounding is nice with plants/flowers and a few birds flying around. The food is excellent. We had breakfast and supper there and both times we were impressed with the choices and the quality of the food.

Cosy hotel just 30 minutes away from Heathrow
Beautiful hotel conveniently located just 30 minutes away from Heathrow airport. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were tastefully decorated and provided high-quality equipment and products. The breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

Poor communication
We were disappointed with our stay. We had 2 nights booked from 1/1-1/3. The hotel did not tell us that the superior room that we reserved (and already paid for) was no longer available. They didn't even tell us at check in!! They just took us to a basic room with no mention of the change. When I went back down to inquire, they said that a "water issue" forced the change, but they made no effort to compensate us for the change in reservation. They also did not tell us that on 1/1, our day of arrival, that their reception, bar and restaurant were closing at 5PM. This was our final stop after a long day, and we had planned to settle in with food and drink. Part of the reason we wanted to stay here was because we enjoyed relaxing at the fireplace with a snack and cocktail previously! That did not happen as they were turning out the lights within minutes of our arrival at 5. They did say that they had "tried" to call me, but they couldn't reach me because of the international #. I found this VERY odd, as I continued receiving "welcome" emails from the hotel up through my day of arrival, none of which mentioned any change to the reservation or the hours that they would be open. This was very disappointing. We had stayed here before and had had a lovely experience, but I do not think that we will return.

Beautiful pub / hotel, full of charm and character. The meals are good, but tend to be over fussy and elaborated, but don't add to the quality of the meal. Breakfast was actually nicer than the dinner! Ideal for a one night stay and only 25 minutes to Heathrow.

We had a bad experience here caused by other guests: at one in the morning, a group of men were standing outside singing and swearing for ages. It woke me up and I couldn’t sleep afterwards. I phoned the desk and left a message on the answerphone but have not had a response. I told the breakfast waiter in the morning and he said he knew who they were, since they had behaved like that the night before as well and were outside when he left at 11.45. He says he had emailed their company and said it was totally unacceptable behaviour as all the other guests had complained. Would I stay here again- doubtful, as we do like to sleep when we go to a hotel! What a pity. The room was very clean and the young staff were most helpful.

Clean, friendly and welcoming very enjoyable stay with very good food at very reasonable prices. Free drink in the room and fresh milk for the tea. Will definitely stay again. I am searching for other pubs in the chain to stay in other parts of the country. Well done 5 stars

Amazing comfortable hotel with great service and all those little extras that you don’t normally find in a country hotel. Booked in for two nights but sadly only stayed for one as someone in our party was fell ill.

Well worth a stay.
A good find, I'm pleased I booked here for my 1 night whilst working in the area. The room was very pleasant with the added bonus of air con, which in this weather, and being in the roof space, was really needed. I stayed for the evening meal, it was ok and breakfast was a good start to the day. A tip for the chefs though, brioche buns only need a light toasting, not a full on nuclear attack. That aside The Bird in Hand lived up to its scores. I'll happily stay here again and would recommend it.

Everything was fine. Though travelocity said it was air conditioned and it was not. Also, there were 4 different types of power outlets in the room, the ones near the head of the beds were not the usual type. I didn't have an adapter for those to run my CPAP machine. I had to plug it in on the opposite wall, and sleep with my head at the foot of the bed.

Lovely Quaint Hotel
Well situated hotel in a countryside environment convenient for many local attractions. The oldie world hotel, bar and restaurant was very attractive and comfortable. Restaurant had a good selection of food types and the quality was excellent.
