Staff were lovely. Location was excellent with plenty of free parking. Room & bed were huge with beautiful view. There was a bowl in the room with tea bags & sugar but couldn't find a kettle... Lovely quiet hotel. Would definitely stay there again

Breakfast options seemed limited, Parking not guaranteed, We were very lucky to get a space when somebody pulled out. Room was clean. Nice big bath towels. Letter sent asking us to register 72 hours before we arrived sounded like we would lose our pre-paid booking if we did not call. I tried to call the number and there was no response or call back. On our tight schedule this was very frustrating.

Very nice hotel. Lovely ground floor, reception with coffee and hot- desking. As there's no TV, we took our iPad which helped as l have 2 small children. There's a playground nearby which was good and the sea overlooks the hotel. There are shops and restaurants on the road behind and parrell which is convenient. We walked into town about 20 minutes and there's a lot to entertain the kids, including skating, Margate Cave and Turner museum which is free. In all, we enjoyed our stay, some good weather for April, l think the view would be even more picturesque in the summer.

A very warm reception area and the girl on the desk was very friendly and super helpful. The night staff were also. No tea/ coffee in the room was disappointing but other than that it was a good budget hotel.

Fantastic staff and loved decor of the room. Biggest bed ever slept in!! Just a couple of things to mention, would have been nice to have more than 2 pillows, stock up on more soap and loo roll in the room and would have been nice to have the room serviced which is what you have listed on Expedia. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely be staying again!

The bed was comfortable. We would like a reund as my wife hurt her elbow on a bead edge sticky out or the tiling. The shower eas dirty uncleaned soap scum and the room was cold on entry. Staff were unfriendly.

Had an overall very disappointing stay at Selina. We chose to book at this property because we liked the pictures of the Sea View room with large windows, but upon checking in we were told that there wasn’t actually a Sea View room available. The room we got instead was very tight with tiny windows, a broken bathroom door, and also no TV (something we weren’t as concerned about if we had the sea view room). We were refunded the price difference of the room but received no further compensation - I have even emailed Selina’s customer service and received no response. The breakfast was also mediocre and one member of the staff was very friendly but the rest were quite rude and unhelpful. Wouldn’t recommend!

Too expensive for what ended up feeling like a hostel experience despite paying almost £200 for one night in a private room. When we first arrived, the lady who greeted us was fine but gave the bare minimum like she wasn’t bothered whether we were there or not. I wouldn’t care if we hadn’t paid so much - you’d expect more warmth and enthusiasm for the price. Bedroom was very dark as it didn’t have a window. Shower wouldn’t change temperature - stayed boiling hot no matter what we did. No water in the room which seemed really stingey considering how much the room cost. The only water was lemon water down at reception, but being thirsty at night you don’t want to be trying to quietly find your key and get dressed in the dark (to not wake others), then sneak out get the lift downstairs to go get a class of water and back. No tea or coffee or TV - not a huge deal but again its the price that doesn’t match up. The bedsheets were rough and felt cheap. The walls are sooo thin so we were woken up every time someone used the lift, stairs or doors. The people in the room above us were playing loud booming music from the early hours and singing and stomping around - ceiling so thin we could literally hear the which songs they were playing. We ended up going home at 7.20am as we’d been kept awake so long. When we went to check out, no staff were around - waited a while, tried ringing the bell. It was a ghost town. We just put the key on the desk and left.

Disappointing
On arrival it looks better than a lot of buildings in the area. The atmosphere was great as we arrived and felt vibrant. We knew in advance that the rooms were going to be small but some of the basic things were amiss. Before leaving the next morning Tried to shower. It did not fit the bracket, fell out and showered everything in the bathroom and had to try and bath in a tiny tub. No glasses or something like a tea or coffee station. For the amount paid it was very disappointing and worth about half what we paid.

The decoration throughout was very good, modern art to be seen throughout. The downstairs, foyer area and beyond was light, spacious and inviting. Dining are opens on to a small balcony with a sea view.

Last minute weekend stay.
I booked a weekend stay only a matter of hours before I arrived as it was a spur of the moment trip. I travel reasonably frequently, but this stay was honestly one of my favourite of anywhere. I rarely leave reviews, but couldn't not in this case. The property itself is pretty much perfectly described and is a tastefully modernised hotel of old. Decor is understated and minimal, but clean and comfortable. However that's not what makes it so special. Every single member of staff I encountered, from calling ahead when there was a problem with my initial booking, to every interaction I had at reception and beyond was so very lovely. The vibe and general personality of everyone in the place was unreal. I've both worked in and owned my own business in hospitality and the team they have here are absolutely unreal. It made the whole weekend incredibly relaxing, and I'd make a point to stay here with longer notice next time, just because I know the sort of people I'll be greeted with if I do. Look after the team here, they literally couldn't be doing a better job.
