Everything was excellent, and Kes went above and beyond even though they were short staffed. The only downside was Expedia taking the deposit from us and not paying The horse and Groom, which is provung difficult to resolve through no fault of our or Kez and her team.

A warm welcome and lovely room, staff were excellent,the location was great. Only very slight downside was the awkward shower (but it is an old building!). Would be very happy to stay again.

Good stay
It was extremely nice in a very quiet environment which suited me well. Very well appointed and well thought out. Excellent food and wine, and friendly staff. Would be nice to be able to have a cooked breakfast during the week. Overall excellent.

On the edge of the Cotswolds.
Very enjoyable one night stop over. Very professional service and delightful country inn restaurant. The building is historic and full of character. Kes looked after us very well.

The hotel had no emergency number or way to contact staff outside of business hours. We were locked out of our room for hours and had no assistance. Additionally, none of the VIP benefits were received, food from the pub below can’t be eaten or delivered to the room, and the check-in is simply the bar. Staff were generally unhelpful.

The Horse & Groom is a real gem, I cannot fault it in anyway. A great example of a country inn with excellent service and accomodation.

Lovely but unpleasant smell
It was a very smart pub with great staff. Breakfast was amazing. Room was set up very nice on arrival. The problem was the smell of the drains. It was so strong coming from the bath and we felt we couldnt escape it. We had to open the windows even though we wanted to be warm. It was a real shame as it was a nice room.

Lovely spot
Had a very enjoyable couple nights here. Friendly staff and excellent food - not the biggest portion sizes I've ever seen but plenty for us. Room in loft space was very comfortable but would be difficult to access with any mobility issues. Would certainly recommend.

Great base in the southern Cotswolds.
Fantastic weekend , with great hosts. This is well run, pub with well decorated rooms. The breakfast and dinners were excellent. We will definitely be visiting again.

Peaceful 1 night stay
Room was beautiful but just ask which room you are in as Avon has a very tiny door, and I mean tiny! and sloping eaves, not ideal for everyone. Only thing lacking is a mirror near enough to a plug to blow dry their hair. Food was absolutely delicious! Staff very friendly and helpful.

what a great find
The check in was amazing with David greeting us with a warm friendly smile and manor. nothing was too much trouble and the rooms were amazing as was the food for our evening meal and breakfasts. to think he only took the place on a couple of months ago he hs done brilliant

We had a really comfortable and relaxing stay at The Horse & Groom Inn. Our room was very spacious and clean and we were well look after by the staff. Breakfast and dinner were delicious!

Absolutely beautiful country pub. We were staying there whilst attending a nearby wedding meaning we didn’t get to spend as much time at the Inn as we would have liked but we were so impressed by it that we have immediately booked to return with our dog and daughter in December. Everything is beautifully appointed, the staff were lovely and the breakfast included with the rooms was delicious and varied. I had eggs benedict and my husband had the full English, both of which were fabulous.

Wonderful stay at the Horse & Groom. Room was superb, cosy and with lots of amenities. Good location too for exploring north wilts. Dinner and breakfast the following day were great and kind and friendly staff throughout.

Staff and Angela the manager are friendly and welcoming. The old worlde atmosphere is great, locals friendly. Very dog friendly, all area except restaurant. We ate our evening meal in the warm bar area so our dog could be with us. Sadly hot water wasn't working in our bathroom but Angela addressed this and for us it wasn't a major problem. Food was amazing.

Lovey old inn beautiful features. Very quirky door into the room which was lovely with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom was lovely but a bit chilly, it was minus 2 outside though

An excellent stay in a lovely country pub. Really comfortable bedroom, good bathroom. Nice outlook. Excellent dinner and very good breakfast. Staff lovely. Only criticism was the fact that the flood lights at the front of the pub shone around our curtains which was a bit annoying. But overall I would thoroughly recommend this pub.

Nice quiet room on front, road noise almost non-existent.Very nice bath plenty of hot water.Food for dinner and breakfast was excellent beautifully cooked. Bed very comfortable, sure to return.
