Misleading

We were very disappointed with our stay here. We received an SMS the day before we arrived telling us the keys would need to be picked up off site, which started things off badly. This should be made much clearer before booking the room. The only access to our room was via stairs, through a rabbit warren of doors - very annoying and kinda dangerous with heavy luggage. The photos tell a different story to the rooms themselves. The heater seemed to be permanently on. The room didn't feel secure. There was a constant noise coming from the bathroom - possibly the lift shaft. You couldn't stand up in the shower. There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang towels. The bed was uncomfortable. The pillows were really lumpy. There are plenty of other options in that price range nearby, so I'd recommend trying somewhere else.

Well located hotel.

Les + : Exceptionally well located, 2 mins from Paddington Station. Delivered on kitchen facilities, and offered free WiFi.
Les - : The hotel room is tired and in need of general maintenance. If I didn't need a kitchenette, I would have been better off at another hotel.
Situation : Lots of great sights minutes away by bus and Underground
Overall, the superior studio worked for us... 2 adults and 2 children. We stayed at their 9 Talbot St. Address but had to check in 1 mile away at another property. The lift broke down once during our 3 day stay but was fixed promptly. Staff we're friendly and the offer of bag storage on our last day was very helpful.

Close to sights

Les + : The hotel was around the corner from Paddington Station and there were many places to dine in the area.
Les - : Fix the lift and take care of the shower drain.
Situation : Nearby is Kensington Palace and the gardens which is a beautiful area. Around the corner is Paddington Station which can take you just about any where
We stayed at this hotel April 2014 and was quite cramped for 3 adults and 1 pre teen. We had a double bed and a double futon which were mildly comfortable. The lift in the apartment did not work and we were on the 4th floor. I had read other posts about the elevator not working before we left and had hoped that it would be fixed by the time we came, but it wasn't. I sure hope it is by now! The bathroom shower was tiny (I am 5'10 and slender) and had no shelf to hold any toiletries. The shower drain was extremely slow and I had to turn the shower of mid way before the water overflowed out into the bathroom and then I could resume my shower. This was another item that I had read about before the trip. I did advise the hotel, but we didn't see any difference in the shower drain for the rest of our stay.

Room conditions unacceptable

Les - : Bring the room up to a proper standard. e.g. Fix broken tiles, oven, cupboard doors, window lock, supply appropriate cooking utensils
Situation : The location is Kensington which is within walking distance of a lot of attractions.
We chose a beautiful location but the apartment (if you can call it that) was in such rundown condition that we would have walked out if we could have found an alternate place to stay. They advertise it as an apartment but it is really only a small room with small bathroom. Our bed with I skinny pillow was pushed against a wall. The oven did not work, crockery and glasses were missing, the bathroom was cleaned by my wife to get rid of mould. We were on the ground floor with the lift beside our bedhead, stairs went up past our door and a passage to the stairs to downstairs also went past our door so with all the noise we got little sleep which was what we supposedly paid for.

Les - : Way overpriced and should offer more room service
Tiny flat basically one room with a stove, sink and frig stuck in. Had to pick up the keys several blocks away with our cab ticking out the pounds on a prepaid booking. No room service just clean towels after the third day. Our bed was a small double--I didn't think think they still made that size!! Only a block from Paddington which we did not use as the tube is fairly expensive and buying your tickets on the automated machines is confusing. Lots of cabs which you can flag down any time of the day.

booked for single beds ended up with 2 double uncomfortable beds. The attendant did not care. he said take it for leave it.

Arrived four hours early to leave bags and the room was ready. The staff were very friendly arranged taxi from reception to main rooms. Appart from the lift not working and the shower with very slow draining time we were quiet happy. Very central also. :()

The check in staff were helpful, and there was a transfer (free of charge, if not we'd have used the tube). The key worked and the studio was clean and comfortable; as well as being in an ideal location for getting into the west end. In fact we experienced none of the problems any of the negative reviewers did.

Basic Accomodation

Check-in location is not the hotel address - unfortunately hotels.com did not tell me this in the booking confirmation - which didn't help as I had to stand in the rain and call their help-desk. Eventually another guest told me the location on the check-in location (25 minutes walk) from the hotel. Basic accomodation - lock on main door was broken, so not particularly secure. Clean.
