Les + : Megan in the bar was attentive, helpful and really pleasant.
Les - : Check the room facilities regularly and look after those little things that make all the difference. Please answer friendly and constructive E-mails.
Situation : Take a stroll in and around Sefton Park. Great area both scenically and for restaurants, etc..
The staff were excellent, but the room was cramped, cold and a big let-down. Some lights didn't work and the shower was a 'trickle'. However, the noise from the creaking loo had us in hysterics every time! I did write to tell them afterwards, but have had no response.

Booked as venue of friend's wedding reception

Les + : Location Appearance Bar
Les - : It's seems harsh, but fair to say; refurbishment of rooms and sound proofing of walls and ceilings.
Situation : Sefton Park including the Palm House. From TA i read that Knowsley Safari Park is nearby and that a taxi to Liverpool City Centre is very afordable.
The hotel is set in a lovely leafy area of Sefton Park and the building exterior looked very fitting. The entrance saw the restaurant on the left and the bar on the right; both looked recently refurbished and very clean and fresh looking. Check in was one at a time and involved filling out a form of guest details. Not a huge problem, but as there were several of us turning up after a wedding ceremony I didn't see what harm it would have made to maybe have 2 guests filling their forms out at the same time. The hotel had character features including creaky floor boards and sash windows. The room was small and the bathroom dated which made me feel like it was more suited to workers looking for digs than a couple who like to spoil themselves. The room was very clean, but far from sound proof. Saying that; it's mainly down to people's anti-social nature. We live in a flat and are conscious of not slamming doors etc, but not everyone is. The bar staff were friendly enough and we left without breakfast as we opted for a lay in and to have something at the cafe in the middle of the park. Yes I am tight, but it meant we had a nice stroll and got a better choice. The park was lovely and we'd recommend a small stop at the Palm House. Overall the hotel was good value considering it's location. I found some harsh reviews on TripAdvisor, but then if we'd have paid more and hoped for a silent room I'd have been thoroughly annoyed as well.

Depends on Room

Publié le 3 nov. 2011 sur Hotels.com
Great hotel where I have stayed a number of times. Main problem is noise in 1st. Floor rooms. On Saturday night, often a music event in the Hotel which meant that until 11.30 or so, unable to hear television or sleep because very room vibrated. This is a great pity because in every other respect, hotel is very good or excellent.

Will stay here again

This is a really good place to stay in a surprising location overlooking Sefton Park and the lake. I booked this for a business trip and it exceeded my expectations. A modernised Victorian Gothic building with views o the lake and a smart bedroom and bathroom , and you could open the windows, so lots of good resh air and I slept well. 10 minutes walk away there is Lark Lane with 25 restaurants - I counted them so another bonus was the choices of places to eat. I had a good trip to Liverpool made better by the Blenheim. It more than deserves its 3 stars and in my opinion was really good value for money.
