I recommend this hotel 100% perfect stay
I absolutely recommend this hotel ! The staff was adorable and very helpful. They helped me at 1am for a adaptor. The room was pristine clean and spacious and is located in front of hull university.

la restauration est plutôt grasse et l'hôtel est plutôt vieux on va dire atypique ! j'ai passé une nuit bruyante pour recevoir un petit-déjeuner non continentale probablement dû à la neige mais il est situé en ville.

Lack of consideration by the kitchen staff for paying guests staying above - very noisy.. Police knocking on the door at 3am in order to arrest a neighbour.. Overall cleanliness not great, mouldy shower curtain, stained walls, dirty carpets

The room felt incredibly cold, and I had received a call about the lack of heating, so I was already aware of the issue. The iron provided was more like a "toy iron" and didn't function properly. The television in the room was smaller than my phone. The food seemed to be microwaved, and the coffee served during breakfast appeared to be nothing more than colored water.

The location is excellent if you are visiting the University. Parking was no problem. Staff were friendly. Our room was a bit tired and we had a portable oil filled radiator provided, that did not provide much heat, as the plumbed radiators were not on. On our visit the kitchens were closed so there was no breakfast or evening meal option. Fortunately there are plenty of dining options in the vicinity. Personal gripe was that for a pub they did not offer any real ales.

Reasonable stay. Clean and nicely presented room with a desk and tea/coffee making facilities. Restaurant was closed and no meals/breakfast available. No heating on in my room when I arrived and it was very cold. When returning to my room after work on Day 2 the door had been left unlocked by the cleaning staff whilst my belongings were still in there. Great hospitality from the bar staff in the evening.

Don't bother
Heating not working in the room and the carpet was filthy, restaurant was closed and rentokil was on site, the corridors and rooms are outdated and the hotel needs refurbishment drastically.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm sorry to see you had no heating - we have had a new boiler fitted and they are currently working to get the heating fixed asap. The kitchen is currently closed for maintenance and we are hoping to get back open as soon as possible. Also as part of Greene King it is common to have rentokil out for routine visits to ensure we remain pest free and safe to open. Nice place handy for the university
I was on a conference at the uni and needed somewhere handy to stay overnight and this place was perfect friendly comfy warm ( weather was v cold and frosty) and fitted the bill perfectly I cannot fault it thanks guys this is a good decent place to stay!

Good budget stay
I have stayed here a few times and it is very consistent. Friendly staff, good food and drink, very good value, just opposite the university so good location. My main issue is they don't provide plant based milk even though they have vegan options for breakfast meals! The staff said it isn't on their order list. Please get some soya milk for non dairy tea and coffee! Also the water in the tea urn was luke warm. The staff said it was Greene King policy. Ridiculous. The coffee was piping hot.

Friendly Staff but Tired Looking Room
Easy and quick check in and friendly staff. Hotel was very convenient for where I needed to be. However, the room was disappointing. I wasn't expecting much for what I paid but I felt that the room was very tired and worn and fell below my expectations. There was a large stain on the wall that looked like someone had thrown a drink at it. The carpets looked dirty and old. Not all the lights in the room worked and the taps didn't work well. Having said that, for one night and the short time I was in the room, it was comfortable and did the job.

Directly opposite the University which was extremely handy. Dinner was discounted & very reasonable. Cocktails were ridiculously cheap. Only criticism is that the doors need shaving as they were very hard to open & close against the carpets and the bathroom window didnt close properly.

Friendly staff, good choice of beers, tho only 1 ale :( Food was very tasty (sirloin cooked to perfection) Room was comfy, bed a bit squeaky, bit soft for me, water very hot for my shower - only criticism is the decor and carpets are showing their age, but for the price not an issue

Well located, Good value for the price
We were visiting the university of Hull and this hotel was perfectly located. Rooms were clean and practical. We could hear the music from the pub till 11pm but it wasn't an issue as we weren't asleep earlier. The interior feels old - looks like from the 80s, but as mentioned, it's clean. Globally a good value for the price (around £50 per room).

We had a nice comfortable room, bed was comfy, pillows were a tad hard but still had a good nights sleep. Food very nice and staff were very welcoming and friendly, would definately stay again 🙂

Not worth £85
Couldn’t stay in room, not clean very dated, found stains on bed sheets. Left and found different accommodation. Lost £85 but couldn’t stay in that room. VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. Booked this room on the reviews. I think these reviews were made up

Hi Scott, We would always hope that any issues with rooms are brought up with a member of the team before leaving, however you left and told the team you were leaving due to work commitments changing and could no longer stay and did not mention anything to do with the room having issues. Booked the overnight stay here as it is next to Hull uni where I was visiting my son. The staff were friendly and professional. The pub was lively and had a great food and drink menu. The room was cosy, modern, and had tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was so so comfortable and the shower was powerful and refreshing. It was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be staying here again.

Cracking location for the University
The room was dated however the bed was very soft and comfortable (Rm4) and the shower was excellent! Having the restaurant and pub below was very convenient and the 20% discount was great too! The parking at the front and rear was shared with the pub customers so was a challenge around 5pm but that eased off as the night wore on so overnight parking was not an issue.

Overall Good value for money
Free car parking, friendly staff, clean and nice breakfast. Rooms a bit tired and dated. If you happen to get room 4 its above the kitchen with noisy extractors and kitchen staff shouting and discussing things you would rather not hear! Wifi unstable too. Helpful manager assisted a move.

bedroom nice and clean and bed very comfy we were a disabled couple and the bedroom was at back of the hotel. it was up a series set of stairs along a fairly long corrador through at least 8 fire doors an up and down stairs. certainly not any good for elderly or disabled. no hot water and the sink plug would not hold the water. Breakfast was excellent. music in bar was to loud.

This place is a Maze, getting to your room is an experience to say the least, the breakfast was late with almost raw bacon & cold beans. Butter for the toast was frozen solid and unusable. My advice? Stay somewhere else
