This hotel is lovely. It is a bit dated though and needs an upgrade. The bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. It was close to the cathedral and the river.

Such a pleasant stay at the Green Dragon! Excellent value. A period property with all the comfort of modern life. Conveniently located, very comfortable bed and quiet room. Brings to mind "Grand Hotel". Would very much recommend.

Pleasant stay, rooms a little tired and dated. Clean room, and friendly staff. Breakfast very disappointing, limited choice, no pastries. I asked for two poached eggs and was brought 4 hard boiled eggs that looked like they had been peeled.

Two night stay in February
Booked in January, rang to enquire about parking and if hotel had lift as we are slightly disabled. Receptionist said there is a lift and we were in room 238, 2nd floor near the lift, front of hotel. On arrival we were given room 120, first floor, back of hotel, which was as far from the lift as was possible. We queried this but were told we were definitely in room 120. Very disappointing. Room was adequate but not sure how it qualified as a Superior room. Hardly room to walk round the bed, shower over bath unsuitable for many people as bath is high and nowhere to hold on to.

Decent hotel in Hereford.
A decent hotel for a short stay. The room was a like a sauna when I got to it and was amazed to find a small electric heater plugged in and switched on. This made the room so hot and stuffy that I had to open a window - far from environmentally friendly! Otherwise - the bathroom was a bit tired but the rest of the room was ok. Breakfast was decent and staff accommodated my requests for something not on the usual menu.

Heating not working electric rad in room, old fashioned shower over bath hard to access. Dark green paint on every damn wall no photos or prints on walls just boring Uncomfortable chairs. Security lights kept coming on in the night lit the windows brightly! All in all not relaxing place! And small incorrect loo seat fitted far that was too small for the pan! A poor replacement not to a high standard.?this place is run down.

Excellently located hotel, car park close by and convenient for my business meeting. I didn't have breakfast but the restaurant served good food in the evening.

I know it’s called The Green Dragon hotel but the excessive use of dark green paint throughout the hotel is drab, dreary and very unimaginative. My room had dark green doors and window frame, dark blue walls, dark brown headboard and a piece of drab muslin at the window- it was very dreary and old fashioned.

Very convenient
Excellent hotel right in the middle of Hereford. Access to everything you need so no need to use car. Car parking available, but its not owned by hotel and does get busy.

Business stay, acceptable for the price.
Rooms were fairly dated and my bathroom smelt slightly of damp. The bar and restaurant areas were very nice. I stayed here for business and would do so again if not better accommodation is available at a reasonable price.

We stayed for 3 nights. Lovely staff who were always happy to help. The room was cosy but just a couple of little things that could be sorted - the window is unable to be opened and although a fan is provided, it was covered in dust so it was quite stuffy in the night. Also, there was yellow staining along the bottom of the bathtub. Overall, a very nice hotel and the location is great for the cathedral, shops and restaurants around.

Flash entrance, but rotting underneath
Room was damaged and run down, paint missing from walls, marks on the walls. Sofa bed had the worst mattress - could feel the metal frame underneath. Had to use a duvet to act as padding for my daughter. Main bed - mattress as stiff as a board. Cheap duvet and bead sheets/pillow cases meant I was itchy throughout the night. Window frame is old and window does not shut properly - cold all night. Bath shower is hard to maintain a constant temperature. Breakfast - food and coffee was cold - no hot plates for cooked breakfast - cheapest bacon imaginable, more fat than pork! Dead insects and cobwebs everywhere by main windows suggest no thorough cleans. Staff were not very enthusiatic, but helpful. Would not come back again. I come from Hereford so remember when The Green Dragon was the premier hotel for miles around, indead where Royalty would stay during visits. Those days are long gone, guessing due to bad management and an unwillingness to spend money for upkeep/on staff.

The door to room had to be fixed as would not close waited in reception for repair thirty minutes. I noticed on second night that all the window frames were full of mould. And have just reviewed an artical damp mould i was bit disappointed. Reported to receptionist on check out.
