Nice for overnight stay only

Publié le 13 sept. 2014
Les + : Location, free parking
Les - : Wifi connections , breakfast is too expensive......not worth the price, should be included in price of stay as nothing special, poor choice....
Overall, very pleasant stay and very nice location. However in advert say that Internet is free everywhere, which it is but on the rooms the signal is very poor and kept loosing the wifi...also I had to type in few times log in.....very good place for overnight.....

Favourite Campanile

Publié le 20 août 2014
Les + : The location is quiet ensuring a good rest and the rooms appear to have been refreshed.
Les - : Often the light bulbs in the bedroom do not work and putting the shutters up or down is quite difficult for the elderly
Situation : Dunkerque is interesting -the super markets at Grande Synthe are useful for stocking up French food to take home- the lake opposite is beautiful-
Have stayed at Armbouts Cappel Campanile once or twice a year for over 25 years. The buffets and main dishes were, as always, delicious and the staff very welcoming and helpful. It was a pleasure to be spoken to in French instead of it being assumed that Britons are unable to learn another language! The rooms appear to have been updated recently and there was a good supply of tea and coffee, welcome after a long drive.

typical older Campanile

Publié le 21 juin 2014 sur Hotels.com
this was a smaller, older style Campanile but it did its job. No hairdryer. Small single beds - husband rather big fella 6'6', so opted for single beds, but would have been better with their double bed which is bigger than ordinary UK double as it would have meant more space in the room. Room was near where smokers congregate so smell of smoke and cigarette butts where they missed the container. Smell only invaded the vestibule, and quickly alleviated with a puff of perfume. Clean room, wooden floor. Ate at Restaurant, food ok.

Convenient

A nice hotel with rooms that are a little dated but comfortable enough. A bit of a distance from the town center but that should be ascertained before booking anywhere anyway

Crisp and clean

Publié le 28 avr. 2014 sur Hotels.com
Having spent a week driving around france staying in different motels, this was clearly the best hotel. Rooms were clean. It was the only one we stayed in which had a bath (sit up French version) and shower. The bed was huge, with cotton bedding. Free parking and a resturant on site. We are in the resturant. Not the cheapest, but all cooked to order. Most people seemed to be choosing the all you can eat starter and desert option. Only issue was when booking out. They said they had not relieved payment from Hotels.com. We paid again as they insisted we had just held the room and not paid for it. Of course. I then found my booking conformation and matched it with my bank account. They still refused to accept we'd paid. I phoned Hotels.com. They were very friendly but insisted the hotel has been paid. This went on for ages. In the end hotels.com refunded my money. Bit it cost me £8 in mobile phone charges calling the uk.

Great for overnight stay whilst shopping and for getting into main town. Opposite the Hotel are two Lakes which are great to go round for the evening stroll and the morning walk.

Au Bordure du Lac

Publié le 8 avr. 2014
Les + : It is exactly what we expected - good value and pleasant to use.
Les - : It had everything we needed.
Situation : It is close to the autoroute, not far from the ferry port, and is close to a lake.
The hotel was signposted and therefore easy to find. It is exactly the sort of hotel to use for an overnight stop. The staff were pleasant, service was basic but good, the room was comfortable and clean, and there was a good quality television. What more could you want? We will use this hotel again.

Perfect for a single nights sleep. Wouldn't want to be here for any longer.
