Hotel far from International airport

Publié le 12 avr. 2014
Either Expedia or one of the reviews misled me to believe that this hotel is closed by International airport...actually it takes 45min - 1 hour one way

Charming, traditional smaller hotel in Sukhumvit

Publié le 4 oct. 2013
Les + : Lovely decor, indoor and outside - lovely pastel colours. Staff helpful when we had difficulty with a subsequent booking.
Situation : Was a bit off the main centre, compared to our other hotels, but plenty of local cafes, massage and easy to get taxi/tuk tuk
Small, but charming rooms, with balcony. Lovely pool and restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff.

A great place to land after a long flight!

Publié le 25 août 2013
Les + : Clean, tidy, friendly staff, great décor, good location, excellent price, quiet, convenient location. Wi-Fi worked flawlessly.
Les - : Having a chair with a back, rather than a stool to sit on would have been nice.
Situation : Close to skytrain, close to a supermarket and restaurants.
I booked this hotel on the recommendation from a local resident and was very grateful that I did. There was no issue with booking and checking in, the staff helped haul my bags up the 4 flights of stairs, and they politely responded to every inquiry I had. They even came to my room to help teach me how to make a phone call! The water pressure was a bit low in the shower, and the temperature was a bit low for my liking (I didn't realise that each room has it's own water heater and I could have adjusted it myself). The room was very clean - even in the corners, and had great a/c, too. The room was pretty small, and might be a bit cramped for a couple with lots of stuff. The section of the hotel I stayed in did not have an elevator. I'm not sure if the other sections did - you might want to check, in case you have some limited abilities. The restaurant food was nothing to write home about, but the room service was very prompt. I would book in here again - for the price it's safe, clean, friendly and close to the skytrain, while being out of the typical touristy areas. (I would have uploaded photos but the Expedia site wouldn't let me!)

Quite a distance to BTS

Publié le 14 mai 2013 sur Hotels.com
I was allocated to a room in the old wing and the aircon was rather weak. Was disappointed that there is no complimentary toothbrush. The breakfast buffet was good though and has a modest spread of bread, eggs, ham, sausage, rice, noodle, a meat and vegetable dish, porridge, miso soup, salad, fruits and yoghurt. Location-wise, it is not that fantastic but compensated by the complimentary hotel tuk tuk that transports us to the BTS upon request.

Nice place

Publié le 4 mai 2013 sur Hotels.com
First off. The bad - rooms were a bit small. The rest. Staff was eventually nice. Originally we were told we could only eat the bread/cereal portion if the breakfast. But after we mentioned something the next day, we were set. We mentioned this to the counter staff. And she took us to the breakfast counter and made sure we got both lines. FYI- the breakfast is in 2 areas. One area has bread, cereal and drinks. The other has eggs and all the good stuff. I think the first day was a miscommunication. Location: Great. Right next to good street food. Right next to thong lo bts train stop. Well, a 7 minute walk- but they will take you there for free as often as you want via a little tuk tuk. Which is nice. We just took the bts everywhere And that was nice. And there is also a post office near by. The area is not super touristy which was great. I was a bit worried about the location because it appeared to be far from the action, but it ended up being great. We thought our room was a bit small, but it was in great shape. Our room did not have a window. At first we were disappointed, but after being super jet lagged it was a blessing in disguise. From the time we left our house to the time we got to the hotel it was: 28 hours and a 12 hour flip. So 8 am there was really 8pm our time.

Very nice staff with a very nice breakfast included with our room. We would stay there again although there is one caveat. They allow smoking in some rooms which is close enough to where we stayed that the smell of smoke sometimes came into our room and was often very strong in the corridor.

Looks can be deceiving.

Les + : Interesting design.
Les - : You need to order the "complementary" water from downstairs. If you drink the stuff in your room you will be charged.
Situation : Rather sketchy soi. Close to BTS station.
Our hotel room was a lot smaller than it appeared online. The staff at the breakfast buffet were less than competent. The hotel is located down a rather sketchy soi. There is a small "massage" parlour on the same street.

Good for the price. Will stay again:)

The room was nice and cosy, just right for 2 people. It was clean and pleasant, however the staff could be more on-task when it comes to making up the room each day. They sometimes forget, especially when they are requested to come back at a later time. Breakfast was ok for the price that we paid. It was near the MRT station and a free tuktuk service will take you there. However, it is equally convenient to walk. Overall it was a pleasant experience and will definitely be staying there again.

Great hotel in a good location

Publié le 24 nov. 2012
Les + : The decor of the rooms, along with the balcony overlooking the pool
Les - : The breakfast, and the lack of converters/adaptors for foreign travelers
Situation : Great location, conveniently located near the sky train
We spent 3 nights here in November, and we had a great time! The rooms are nicely decorated, very cute and cozy. However, you can tell that the hotel is a little old and tired, there are scratches and marks on the walls that a little paint would fix, and water damage above the bath tub. Not that it really matters in the long run though. The breakfast was pretty good, they had Thai food, bacon, sausage, toast, cereals, fruits, and eggs made to order. It's 220 baht if it's not included in your room stay, and runs from 6:30-10am. We had tours booked for 2 of the days, and because they picked us up before 6:30am, we were unable to attend the breakfast, so they gave us a (very) small sandwich to take with us. If you are planning to do tours, I wouldn't have the breakfast included in the stay, and would just pick up some things the night before to take with you on the drive. The hotel was in a great location, less than a 5 minute walk to the sky train station, and they do have a tuk tuk that will take you there. The one thing that I didn't like was that they didn't have adaptors or converters for our electronics. We use 110 volts, and there it's 220. The first person I asked said that they did have a converter and adaptor, however it was in use. When I came back and spoke to a second person, they said that they didn't have any at all. So I am not sure whether they have them or not, but we just went out to a local department store and bought a converter for $20.
