The best for the price, service and location
It’s great! The only 2 improvements I wish are 1) make adapter available all time by charge the $10 deposit 2) make the internet access free on the PC at lobby.

Très bel hôtel design, proche du Parc del Retiro et métro
Un hôtel très bien entretenu, propre, décoration design mais chaleureuse. Le personnel est au service des clients c’est agréable. La situation proche du parc del Retiro est parfaite, le quartier est calme mais le centre ville est accessible en 30min à pieds ou en métro (station à 200m Sainz de Baranda) Petit plus: salle de bains très spacieuse avec grande douche. Excellent séjour et bon rapport qualité prix.

Great experience; very nice hotel
I thought the Gran Colon offered great value. Hotel and rooms were modern and immaculate. Room was very small but not a problem for us; typical European style. Staff was helpful. Be advised the hotel is NOT in the center of the city, but is two blocks from the Metro, and probably because of the location, had excellent rates. Also perhaps because of location, staff in the neighboring restaurants did not speak English, but we managed. We didn’t eat in the hotel but each morning I brought coffee up to our room from the "cafeteria." In ceramic cups, of course, the concept of coffee "to go" is not a custom in most of Europe, so I’m told. Nearby restaurants within walking distance were authentic, reasonable and good, but Gino’s turned out to be the Olive Garden of Spain, if that’s your taste.

It Doesn’t Get Much Better...
Every thing about the hotel was right. The property was modern and beautifully maintained. The staff was consistantly pleasant and helpful The hotel was in a lovely neighborhood away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Public transportation was convenient, reliable, safe and inexpensive.

Good Place and Service
The Hotel is well conected, metro station is just few steps from the hotel, in minutes you will be in most of the interesting places to visit in Madrid, rooms are clean and nice, staff is friendly and professional.

Prima hotel
Prima hotel, net buiten het echte centrum, maar wel snel toegang tot het centrum met de metro. Prima prijs/kwaliteit verhouding en een goede service.

a disappointment
We stayed in 6 different hotels throughout Spain with reservations made through Expedia. This was the only disappointment. The hotel is actually two hotels connected together and this one is the shabby hotel. Doesn’t even deserve two stars. The staff was pleasant but the room was dark, dreary, stains on carpet, etc. The place needs refurbishing.

2 étoiles de trop
bon 2 étoiles mais pour un 4 étoiles, là c’est pas top : moquette dégueulasse, literie moyenne, vieille télé, odeur de cigarettes pour une chambre non fumeurs....Franchement, j’aurai eu la même prestation chez un ibis pour la moitié du prix...Seul avantage, proximité du métro.

Soddisfatto
Senz’altro un hotel con tutti i servizi necessari ed anche superflui per una vacanza da risparmio. Un po’ caro il prezzo dei servizi di cucina non compresi nella prenotazione. Ubicato in maniera comoda per l’utilizzo dei mezzi di trasporto idonei per raggiungere sia il centro che le stazioni ferroviarie o l’aeroporto. Non proprio vicino ai luoghi reclamizzati nelle locandine dell’hotel come faci9lmente raggiungibili a piedi.

Ottimo per non subire le distrazioni della zona centrale di Madrid e ben collegato.
