Hi Astral Motels - We stayed in your motel as booked on April 10. The good news is that the unit was clean and tidy but we did not have a good stay because we were put into a unit beside a family group that stayed up late into the night, working on cars, riding around on bikes, playing loud music and even welcomng friends loudly at 2am in the morning. I doubt we had four hours of sleep. One adult wearing gang type clothing with a knife on his hip spent a long time jump starting a car right outside our door.. As you can imagaine we were not prepared to ask them to quieten down It appears they are a permanent group and that is fine as we know there is a housing shortage and motels are being used to house many who found themselves in this position.But putting casual users beside permanent groups does not work because of the above.You should group them in one area away from casual hirers or tell people you have long term occupiers. We will not be back and feel we are entiled to some sort of refund for a terrible night. I was prepared to leave at ten and travel home at night but wasn't prepared to go out while they were milling all around our unit - Not happy R Pickering.

Everything was excellent and wonderful; only downside was the windows and hearing almost everything through the walls. Was situated well. Free and unlimited wifi was a wonderful change. Our hostess was awesome.

Although the paintwork needs freshening up, the unit is spotlessly clean. Beautiful clean bedding too. I have stayed at many motels but I was pleasantly surprised when the manager knocked on my door to see if everything was ok and if I “needed anything , coffee?Tea? “ and to just let him know. No hesitation in recommending this facility.

Good basic accommodation that was clean and well presented. It is a bit on the old side but was very comfortable for our 2 night stay and the kitchen had all we needed.

Easy parking. Good amount of space in room. No hand soap at wash basin. No towel rail. Couch smelt bad, like a damp dog. Door handle out of bathroom very stiff, and took some work to open it again. Almost locked in.

Property appears to be used for emergency accommodation. Didn't feel particularly safe outside in the evenings and there was a lot of shouting and door slamming during the night. Would not stay again.

Toilet rubbish bin was not emptied and I found a used sanitary pad in it. By the time I found it my family was asleep and it was so smelly I could smell it from my bed. I then got up and found it. Staff was surprised when I woke them up to show them. He did apologize but that's all. Yuck. Also my baby had black knees and feet from crawling on the floor which tells me it wasn't mopped. Double Bed was comfortable. When I switched beds I finally got to sleep. Wouldn't stay again though.

The person that checked us in was extremely pleasant. The room was large. It had all we needed in it. The bathroom was separated so the toilet had a door on it, then the sink and shower had a door to the room. We parked directly in front of our room which was extremely convenient. Whanganui is a large town to walk. We were not in walking distance to walk the entire town. This was ok for us, we used our car. I'm sure it could be done, but it seemed pretty far... The internet worked well. The TV had many channels. Only weird thing was: the room was for 3 people but there were only 2 seats for the table. Good thing we were only 2 people.

It’s rare to find a simple, inexpensive motel unit big enough to easily fit a family of 5 or 6, but the family units there are perfect. It’s not fancy, but extremely functional and very well priced. Will definitely stay there again if passing thru.

The beds looked like thaey hadnt been changed. Inside the bedding were fluff an little bugs...also they need to dust the cobwebs off the walls an vacuum behind the furniture
