Near Archeological sites

Publié le 27 avr. 2014
Les + : It is only a 10 minute walk to the entrance of the main gates to the archeological sites.
Les - : They do not have air conditioning. We were there April 24 so it was not hot, but it would be unbearable in the summer.
Situation : Great location near the Roman ruins
The staff was very nice and polite. They were helpful with directions to various places on foot and by car.

Great Staff

Publié le 17 sept. 2013 sur Hotels.com
Stayed here because of its proximity to the archeological park and other sites. The staff was extremely helpful with my driver who spoke no English. Explained to him where I wanted to go and called him when I needed him. The hotel is clean and modern and pictures show it accurately. It's not in a tourist area more residential. Good place for a business trip or for what I used it for to see the sites. Unfortunately nothing interesting in the neighborhood to do at nite. Id stay again if I needed to be in the area.

Very disappointed

Publié le 11 août 2013 sur Hotels.com
Lots of things should be improved, as my experience can show : spent 2 nights there : 1/ entrance door did not work 2/ parking is too small and nobody explains you how it works, basically first in 3/ got hurt by the entrance door on my feet while the receptionist was explaining I had to park elsewhere and he did not took care of my bleeding afterworks, I had to ask him for antisceptic and first help, he did not even appologize 4/ telephone was not working in the rooms for the 2 nights because... they were in the process of changing their telecommunication operator !!! 5/ Tried to talk to the Manager : first time, it was his day off.... second time, he was not available, he did not recontact me on my cell phone as I requested, 6/ Hotel is actually far from the old city, we went by car everytime, takes about 10 minutes to the first parking. I am really used to Hotel for business travels since years, I would say that the some of the people working there are very professionnal but it does not compensate the total lack of service quality. Don't go there.

Extremely noisy, very thin dividing walls

Publié le 7 mai 2013 sur Hotels.com
Spent two nights in a room overlooking the street. First night new guests arrived very late and I could hear every voice, footstep, bathroom visit etc. Plumbing at 0600 the following morning woke me up. Second night there was a guy next door who had an extremely loud very long phone call between 2300 and about 0400. Tried getting him to shut up via the main desk - nothing. Banged on the adjoining wall - just abuse in Italian. Went and banged on his door at 0100 and he just stood on the other side shouting abuse. My alarm went off at 0500 as I was leaving early to the airport. Not much fun at all. Restaurant was fairly mediocre too.

Convenient for archaeology

Publié le 30 avr. 2012 sur Hotels.com
The bus system in Syracuse is almost non-existent: infrequent buses, bus stops scattered, no posted schedules, difficult to use. We ended up having to drive. City driving is the same craziness here, but no worse, and there is a convenient large parking lot near the bridges to Ortegia. We could walk to the archaeological park and museum from the hotel. Not much else around the hotel, as far as we could see. It is an OK place to stay. Getting in and out of the parking lot was a potential problem, although we did OK.

Good choice

Publié le 1 août 2011
Somewhat difficult to find (there are no signs), but a nice and affordable hotel. My only complaint is that they advertise to have free parking, but there is limited space available. This caused me to have to park my rental on the street one of the three nights there. 5 euros for 24 hours of internet, which you can pause.

Hotel Panorama is more a business hotel

Publié le 31 juil. 2011 sur Hotels.com
We stayed at the Panorama Hotel for one night and all in all the hotel provides everything you need. Only the room we got was quite depressive due to the dark colors. After you left the room the air conditioning went back to default settings, even you switched it off, which was very cold and you had to switch it off again after we returned. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom contained everything you need. The breakfast buffet was nice and the coffee very good. If you are a tourist I would recommend to search for a hotel in Oritigia (the old town of Siracusa) with all its restaurants and amenities.
