“Close to the airport”

We stayed at the Paramount twice because it had balconies and was close to the airport for one night stopovers. Staff were great and the Hotel was very nice. Unfortunatly for some reason the balcony doors were locked on both occasions we stayed and we were unable to take advantage of having a smoke outside. Smoking was allowed in some of the rooms but in my opinion this is not acceptable in this day and age. A short stroll to the pool deck fixed this. Would we stay there again...? Probably. There is a large shopping centre less than a block way (across the road) so no shortage of food and any any items you may have forgotten to bring.

“Older but in good condition”

Hotel is located in an older neighborhood, I was a little worried driving into the parking lot and the taxi had a hard time finding it, I called and had the hotel give the driver directions and he then found it ok. They overbooked the room I reserved so tehy put me in a suite for the same price. The room was nice, the hotel is older, but looks to be be recently updated

“Decent for the price”

First I should mention I booked this through expedia and got a great price which is extremely important in my overall satisfaction. The hotel loby, entrance & lounge area is clean and presents quite well. The decore and ambiance of the hotel changed considerably past the elevators. The hallway was carpetted in a rather dark and thick carpet that likely was to root source of a bit of a musky/smoke smell. The room itself was adaquate and had most of what I would normally expect for a three star hotel. The room didnt retain the same odors as the hallways and the sheets towels & linens were clean and changed daily. The television was rather old and difficult to operate, The bathroom was large enough though the facilities were a liitle dated. At some point in the history of the washrooms someone had "faux painted" the tiles to make them look like stone but some had rubbed off and it was looking less like stone and more like mold & mildew. I was not very comfortable walking in the alleyway beside the hotel in the late evening as there were a lot of bar patrons hanging around outside the establishments smoking. The buffet on the fourth floor was not worth the price, in fact I would probably would have avoided it after the first time even if it was included in the room price. East Coast Park is nearby and is awesome to walk along, especially before dawn.

Great service and very helpful staff for any questions about where to shop and how to get there and where to park (which is always a problem in Singapore) Would recommond and if we return will desinatly stay here again

It was a 4 star hotel but the room looked more like a 2 star hotel with a new coat of paint. It just looked worn and unappealing and there were black hairs all over the bathroom floor. The television was at least 15 years old and the reception was poor. We asked for another room but they told us that all the rooms were the same standard and had the same TV. The minibar was empty. Since we prebooked 4 nights we had no choice but to stay. When booking the hotel with expedia we could not find any guest reviews. It is ashame that this information was not available to us before booking because we would definitely have picked something else. Positive: nice view from 10th floor and every morning (besides departure day) we received a newspaper.
