The staff are very slow at the restaurants and quite a few were rather unwelcoming. The resort is beautiful, and from looking at all the images (and the price tag) we expected 5-star service. We were disappointed with the service.

Resort was convenient with a toddler as it was smaller and easy to get around (basically everything was in a circle around the pool areas). All the fees is what get you - they charged service fees AND "environmental fees" for EVERY meal and service and on top of that about $180 at the end for hotel fees. They even wanted to charge us for an extra Tide laundry pod eek. Resort is incredible clean which I loved, toilets were even heated, but the fees and the way they try to rip off the visitors really turned me off.

Our stay at the resort began promisingly with a beautiful view and notable amenities like a well-equipped gym and a dedicated lobby bar staff. However, the positive aspects were overshadowed by numerous issues. The check-in process was poorly managed, with rooms unavailable until dinner, forcing us to use the lobby bathrooms to change for pool and beach access. We were surprised by unexpected charges, contrary to the all-inclusive promise, a concern echoed by other guests. Dining experiences were underwhelming, especially at the buffet and the steak restaurant, which failed to impress. A major inconvenience was the scarcity of pool and beach chairs, with the advice to secure them before 7 AM being impractical for a relaxing vacation. The resort's early closure by 9 PM limited evening activities, and management's response to our concerns was both unhelpful and costly. The room service, particularly the restocking of water and towels, was inadequate, leading us to buy water externally and reuse towels. After over a decade of enjoyable vacations in Mexico, this experience was a disappointing first, characterized by an overpriced stay, average food, and a lack of basic amenities like towels and chairs. The hardworking staff at certain facilities, like the lobby bar, provided some relief, but overall, the resort failed to meet our expectations for a relaxing and accommodating vacation.

1) This was one of the most beautiful and cleanest resort experiences. The bathrooms were remarkably clean and regularly wiped down, even the public ones near the pool. 2) This resort has some inefficiencies. It took us 20-minutes to complete the check-in process. When we thought we cleared the check-in hurdle we were asked for $130 in a resort fee claimed to be referenced in the original Expedia reservation - I was unable to verify the claim. There are two restaurants that require dinner reservations, or a third buffet option. Reservations need to be made at least 24 hours in advance and even then you may be eating really early (5pm) or late (9pm). Every place we sat for meals or at the pool had a tab that would need to be closed - a long ribbon receipt in triplicate and stapled together which we would need to sign before moving. Guests are walking with an identifiable wireless wristband that opens our doors, but that technology does not help any aspect of the stay except opening your room door. Check-out started promptly with a printed off closing statement. We were asked to insert a credit card to complete a charge of $1,801.86 (pesos) for expenses incurred during our stay. When I questioned him, it became obvious he was trying to keep charges on my statement until I caught them. I called him on his dishonesty and misleading me. I felt angry at being treated this poorly. His response made it clear he was trying to trick me by rushing me through the checkout payment.

The property was very family friendly. If you want to go to the infinity pool just be sure to reserve a spot by 7am even though they say its not allowed otherwise you wont get spot. ***** be aware that even though this booking says all inclusive it isnt and expedia will provide no support for once you arive. The cost for all inclusive is $1200usd per person and very much worth it. I wouldnt book through this method again due to the confusion.

Great stay a second time
This was our second time staying at Villa La Valencia, and it was a terrific time once again. We enjoyed the pools and amenities. Food was great. Special thanks to Fernanda and Kelly from Kids Club (our daughter didn't want to leave), Alessandro from Pool bar, and Sotero from the Palmita market for being just the most friendly, helpful and terrific.

I booked the all inclusive package, yet to get there and be told that they don’t see my booking. After digging around for awhile they found my booking, they then proceeded to tell me they don’t see the all inclusive package on my booking. We argued and I showed them my booking on Expedia and they still didn’t honor what I paid for.

The property is still fairly new so it’s nice and clean, we loved the lazy river but 2 things, not enough lounge chairs by the pool and all the restaurants food was mediocre minus the Italian one the food there was great.

Amazing food at every restaurant, staff is very friendly . The hotel is very nice and clean. Not allowed to swim at the beach at this location . No poolside bar available. So you have to get a poolside waiter. Lazy river and pools are good temperature. And it’s expensive to get to town with the taxis .
