coin de paradis!
Merveilleux environnement, divers salons cosi, decors authentiques (cela change du design moderne qui envahi tous les hôtels "chic") mais frais et très propre. les chambres donnent sur la vallée du Douro, on peut en sortir via la porte-fenêtre et, par exemple, savourer une premier café à l extérieur au levée du jour. Balade dans les vignes. Point à améliorer: les tarifs du resto me semblent trop élevés ( tant les vins que les plats)...Quoi qu'il en soit, j y retournerai !

Fabuleux hôtel!
Cet hôtel est situé sur la montagne et nous avons une vue incroyable sur les vignobles et le Douro. Il faisait 37 degrés Celsius et nous nous sommes baignés dans une piscine donnant sur cette vue. Rien n'y manque. La chambre était grande et très confortable. Il s'agit d'un hôtel boutique très luxueux. La nourriture était également excellente. Petit bémol: l'hôtel est un peu difficile à trouver. Il faut suivre les indications des pancartes indiquant Quinta Nova seulement. Ne pas essayer de trouver les indications du nom au complet.

Hôtel de charme à faire à deux. Peu de chambres grandes et calmes. Au milieu des vignes avec une vue magnifique sur le Douro. Petit déjeuner de produits frais et un excellent restaurant, quoiqu'à formule unique donc un peu contraignant. Évidemment vin du Douro et porto de la Quinta sont à gouter. On rêve de rester plus longtemps dans ce lieu enchanteur.

Absolutely lovely property. Quinta Nova went out of their way to ensure we have a lovely stay. The restaurant was the best food we had in all of Portugal.

Incrível! O clima frio deixou a estadia ainda mais acolhedora. Intimista, com lugares apropriados para reunir os amigos e olhar o luar, a paisagem, o rio Douro. A equipe é sensacional, faz do local algo muito melhor. O café da manhã e o jantar servidos no restaurante foram experiências memoráveis. Chuveiro, cama excelentes. Roupa de cama e banho, roupão, manta para poder ficar na varanda observando o vinhedo à noite. Cada detalhe e cada recadinho colocado no quarto nos fez sentir importantes. Superou todas as expectativas. Hotel para quem quer visitar, se hospedar ou só fazer as refeições. Agende antes. Tem loja de vinhos e artesanato, degustação, uma igrejinha linda! Vamos voltar!

This is a magical and peaceful place high up in the mountains in the Douro Valley. The Quinta is decorated quaintly and the property has multiple seating areas and walking trails in which to enjoy the 360 degree spectacular views of terraced vineyards and the Douro River. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the food and wine is delicious, and oh ... did I mention the views! Treat yourself to splurge in this special place!

Beautiful property! Staff was amazing! Without a car there are limited locations for lunch and dinner off-property. The menus do not change day to day on site. Therefore after a few days we were ready for some new food options. Very peaceful setting and a lovely way to start our Portugal vacation.

Simply Beautiful.
Very beautiful and relaxing location. The pool and views were incredible. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. Overall a wonderful stay. It is about halfway between peso de régua and pinhão; about a 40 minute drive from each. The train stop is very close though.

Lovely Quinta for a stop in Douro Valley.
Perfect place for a Douro Valley stop. Very quaint, lots of charm, lovely staff, amazing views, nice restaurant with wonderful food. We had a crazy storm come in so we weren’t able to enjoy the pool and outside eating as much as we’d have liked. The wine tasting tour left much to be desired so I wouldn’t go there just for that.

Stunning view, food and wine. 5 stars
Staff: 5 stars - Tirelessly working around the clock to provide a great service across the day. Food & Wine: 5 stars - we spent two nights eating and drinking at Quinta Nova. Although the menu is fairly limiting given its fine dining credentials, the quality and freshness of the food was second to none. Room: 4 stars - the room was nicely decorated with old period furniture. The only thing that it could have done with was a mini fridge to keep the water cold Pool & Surroundings: 5 stars - people come to this place for the view. It’s very well kept and absolutely stunning. In summary Quinta Nova is an exceptional stay. Although it’s quite expensive for the food and wine, it’s well worth it. This place does not have many rooms, meaning the winery is not flooded with guests. This means you can relax on-site without their being too many people. That’s worth a premium if you ask me.

The property and the service are amazing. Probably one of the best in the region. HOWEVER, it's located in the opposite side of the main road, so getting to the hotel is a far and a somewhat difficult drive specially when it's dark. Because of that it may be a better option to find a similar quinta in the other side of the river.

Wow factor
Wonderful setting, we especially enjoyed the late afternoon sun by the pool, which is surrounded by vineyards. The view of the river and hills is breathtaking. Room was luxurious with old world charm, service friendly and the food tasty (although few vegetarian options). Because it’s quite a drive to get there, make this a destination, spend time at the property . In the morning we walked through the vineyards. They also have wine making tours. This was a bit of a splurge for us, but certainly worth it.

Recently had a 2 day stay at Quinta Nova. We had a wonderful stay, you can not beat the beautiful location and the views are simply stunning. We arrived to the property via train and we were able to organise transfers to and from the hotel which saved a fairly long walk up the hill. The room was clean and comfortable and had a nice outlook over the terrace and vineyards. The pool area was beautiful and was a nice area to relax. During our stay we did the sunset boat cruise which was awesome, more great views and excellent hospitality. We also had a 3 course dinner which was exceptional and found breakfast to be sufficient. Not a huge choice but all very fresh and tasty. We also found time to do the winery tour and tasting. The guide and staff at the wine shop were excellent and the tour was interesting and informative. We did have a few small room issues during our stay which was the only negative but we would still highly recommend Quinta Nova.

Zeer mooi gelegen hotel met ruime kamer, groot bed en ruime badkamer. De hele quinta ziet er prachtig uit en het eten, zowel ontbijt als diner zijn super goed. Je kan een mooie wandeling maken door de wijngaarden en genieten van de uitzichten. Enige punt van kritiek is de aandacht van het personeel. Dat is vrij functioneel. Soms vergeten ze dat ze je in hotel verblijft, wat de hele tijd tot ongemakkelijke gesprekjes leidde. Iets minder stijf en ingestudeerd zou de sfeer meteen wat meer welkom maken.

Not cheap but a great experience
Fantastic stay in a fabulous location. Staff, facilities and food were first rate and the wine tour and tasting were excellent.

For bliss-like tranquility and views, stay here!!!
Perfect in every way! My mom and I stayed at Quinta Nova on the final night of our Portugal vacation and were soooo glad we did - our only regret was not staying for 2 nights! Beautiful property with amazing views of the Duoro River and Valley - there were several cozy living rooms throughout the guest house to enjoy while reading, playing cards, or relaxing. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean, and had an enormous bed that was heavenly. Lovely on-site restaurant that is nice for a lunch or dinner splurge (appreciated the vegetarian options available), wine tour and tastings, wonderful free breakfast, and extremely attentive staff. I appreciated the attention to detail such as pick-up and drop-off at the nearby train station, note and chocolates in our room upon arrival, etc. There weren't many hotel guests during our stay, so we really loved the peaceful and relaxing ambiance of Quinta Nova..especially after the hustle and bustle of Lisbon and Porto. I imagine it's probably a bit busier during the summer, when the weather is warmer and the pool is open. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed here for Valentine's Day of this year. We had an amazing experience at this place. Everything from the staff, wine, food, grounds, and stunning drive to the hotel was absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough good about this place. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Amazing place for a special occasion.

Over priced, and they nickel and dime you for every extra. You are captive to a very expensive menu, and overpriced wines - you even have to pay if you want to taste their wines after a tour! They upsell everything, except for two low quality pillow chocolates which were sarcastically pointed out to us as a gift. 5 star property with a 1 star pricing model.
