A conseiller

Publié le 8 oct. 2007

Perfect hotel in the best walking holiday

Publié le 16 mars 2014
We were unsure about this holiday as we chose the secret saver deal. When we found out which one it was we couldn't be more happier. Breakfast was included which was very nice, though no restaurant however plenty of places to eat. Staff were extremely helpful throughout our week stay.

good location but inconvenient; rude staff

Publié le 7 déc. 2013 sur Hotels.com
Colonna Palace is located centrally within walking distance of many sights, but as it's located across Parliament, taxis cannot stop at any entrance and you will have to walk (although I would try to avoid taxis in Rome, or at least be aware of the different scams!) This being Roma, political demonstrations seem to be a daily occurrence, so the area around the hotel/the square it shares with the Parliament building is constantly blockaded - you'll have to explain to the police why you need to enter. On the plus side (few and far between at this hotel), got to see a marching band performance in front of Parliament one morning. Check in was fine, and the lady was nice enough. Room was of a decent size, but saying it was dated would be an understatement (actually the entire hotel has probably seen better days). Everything was showing wear and tear, and the safe wasn't working. Fortunately, the bathroom was updated relatively speaking, and clean. Lots of creaking and banging at night, not to mention sirens and terrible sound-proofing, so don't expect restful sleep. Checkout was terribly inefficient, as most front desk staff insist on playing the classic Italian game of "let's see how long I can pretend I can't see or hear the guest standing in front of me". When they do deem you worthy of acknowledgment, their attitude is dismissive at best. Not a pleasant stay overall, and would not recommend.

Great location but very basic room.

Publié le 21 nov. 2013 sur Hotels.com
Stuff at the front desk wasn't freindly. The breakfast was very basic . When we were about to leave the hotel we were told that there was an additional city tax of 3 euro per guest per night that we weren't aware of.

Great location, but! Not a 4 star.

Publié le 27 sept. 2013
Les + : 1. Location 2. Roof garden
Les - : 1. Cleanliness of the bathrooms 2. Tired decor 3. Not a 4 star
Situation : Centre of Rome, everything you need with in a walk.
You can't beat the hotel on its location. The roof garden is lovely for breakfast, and the staff are helpfull, and the bed sheets were clean. Sadly it stopped there. The pictures on line isn't what you get in real life. Our first night our rooms were facing a side road which was very noicey. We did move rooms and it was quiter. ( but in Rome you'll find it hard to get a quite room) The furniture really needs replacing, very old and tired. The beds are really hard, along with the pillows. The bathrooms have just been done, but not being looked after, black mould growing around the shower. This wasn't in just one room it was in 4 rooms we saw this, (we were a group off three with 2 rooms, and we both changed rooms). The hotel over all was very tired and out dated. Over priced bar, €4 for a tea. Noisey air con.
