We stayed here for Carnival week and arrived Thursday and did not receive any house keeping until we checked out a week later. Room was cheap for Carnival but understandably so. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Felt safe in location but it isn't a walkable area and need to get transportation to anywhere in Port of Spain. No phone in room. No safe, which is essential. Bathroom very dated with bathtub painted with latex white paint so was peeling off during showers. Water pressure in shower good. Property and rooms need renovations and upgrades. Would not stay again.

The staff was awesome! Great taxi driver with Nigel and the shuttle driver was good as well. The food for breakfast was amazing. The view with how the hotel looked as if it was carved out of a mountain was beautiful as well.

This hotel needs some major upgrades our room was spacious but the bathroom needed upgrades the pipes were old the bathtub was old and flaky good thing I use flipflops to shower. The shower head was old the toilet gave a little trouble.. There was ants on d counter also there was no in room coffee or hot water for tea... The blackout curtains weren't very dark so sunrise we had to rise... The beds omg was sinking lol so we had a very restless sleep. So the management needs to do better... As for the buffet breakfast that was a joke... There was no pancakes or muffins or a variety of fruits no cereal... Just plain bread with sausages and eggs and fried veges.. I was not impressed... I won't be going back again. It was our 10th wedding anniversary and we didn't get any complimentary drinks or food. No welcome drink. This was out first and last.... Sorry but they have alot of work to do...

When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that the hotel is full and it does not have any commitments with Expedia. Therefore I did not get my room and so I had to seek alternative accommodation in a strange country, which costed me additional money and time. I am therefore seeking a refund of my $320 from Expedia, since my card was charged. Looking forward to a quick resolution to this issue. Gary Matthias

Considering some other reviews I saw prior to booking, I was a bit hesitant but when I got there I was totally happy with with what I saw. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I must pay special recognition to the Food and Beverage / Events Manager Ravi who took the time to make each and everyone of his guest comfortable during breakfast. He greeted everyone and even indulged in light conversation every morning. This was most appreciated. The buffet breakfast was good. The pool was wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable. My only disappointment was that the bar was a bit low on stock with regards to food as we could have only gotten one Salmon Burger and there were no grilled chicken so you couldn't get the grilled chicken items on the menu. We did however get the Barbecue wings as well as chicken rings in addition to the salmon burger and they were great. I would say the drinks and food were reasonably priced. I was a little bit disappointed again that on Sunday on our last day, that the bar was closed for a private event and I was so hoping to get another drink or two before leaving. I must mention though that the bar is independent of the hotel.

Very friendly and accomidating staff. It would be nice if the hotel had a ice machine, paper that shows all the channels for the tv., more towels and longer pool hours. However what ever i need the staff did manage to supply for me. The rooms are basic but i didnt mind at all.

I enjoyed the pool and the cleaner and staff at the restaurant were pleasant. The birds and the scenery outside was gorgeous. The room needs a total upgrade. The shower head and faucet for the face basin are old and rusty. Brown water comes out the tap when you first open it. The toilet is stained from the dirty water in the bowl, which looks disgusting. The plumbing needs an upgrade as water pressure is low when showering and the toilet has to be flushed numerous times to make 2 blocks of toilet paper disappear. The restaurant is only opened for breakfast. The cable is grainy, there are limited cable channels and they don't even have the popular channels people look for like HBO, CW and Nick Jr for the kids so forget about watching your favorite shows at night while on vacation. There is no toddler friendly channel. If you are handicapped you can't visit the pool as there are numerous stairs to climb to get there.

Ran out of toilet paper a few times.. had to go front desk to receive some. Towels once were taken could not be replaced until later that day. Was without AC for about 6 hours even tho asking about it several times, and the frustrating thing is that it was just a matter of replacing the remote. Otherwise the staff were awesome, complimentary breakfast buffet was great and the pool was also nice. With all that said it was a good location for carnival.

This property is misrepresented in its amenities, condition of rooms, pool area, etc. etc. We had to change our room three times before we settled on a room that was somewhat acceptable. I would recommend that travellers never book this property. With that said, the staff does their best to try to make your stay pleasant, however, the hotel itself should be closed down until the property is completely renovated. It clearly has seen its day! Also, their ad indicated a 24 hr. shuttle service, which is partially why I booked the room, as it was just for one night prior to flying over to Togabo. It's very far from the airport, and we were on the hook for transportation to the from the hotel at a cost of $50.00 US each way! The adjacent restaurant is not currently owned by the hotel, and it was the cook's birthday, so no dinner was available (no other restaurants in area). It's extremely disappointing when you book through Expedia expecting one thing and get another.

Description very misleading. Bar is in a different building across the road and didn't open until 7pm. Pool also across road and up steep staircases. Restaurant not open during the day. At breakfast, (only choice omelette), Not even salt and pepper on tables. one was expected to choose eve meal and time required! Not even water in room. Had to get a taxi (1hr wait) to supermarket to to buy sandwiches and drinks. Taxi needed to go anywhere. Sadly, having paid for 7 nights, "cut our losses" and checked out! Expensive mistake.

Great hotel, excellent staff & on my 2 stays there they made sure that I was comfortable! The management is exceptional along with the whole staff, especially the women doing the housekeeping! Overall my whole experience with this place is superb!

I spent 2 nights at the hotel. The staff was very helpful had a great and cheerful attitude and was very knowledgeable. There is a club name FUSIONS that is located on the grounds. All rooms has a balcony. I would reccommend this hotel for a short stay, as there is no activities at thw hotel. There is a pool but no gym.

The hotel room was a disaster they gave me a room that weren’t ready the rooms smell like mice mess bathroom was filthy the outside surrounding was horrible the pool area was very dirty and the pool was dusty breakfast only had 3 options and one pitcher of juice overall it was horrible this was a broken down motel sorry this will not happen again....

Misleading website led me here. Hotel was under renovation with no elevator and chaotic conditions. Location was far from areas of interest. Advertised shuttle service was absent. Staff did their best but we left after one night.

Hotel from Hell.
I had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel in rooms 306 and 319 which I booked via an image of the rooms available on Expedia and it was by far the most horrific experience I've ever had in all my years of staying in hotels while traveling. The hotel is under renovations has no elevator; so access to the floors are via a fire staircase walk up ( inaccessible to children and elderly) with filthy and dust ridden hallways, loud noises from workers as early as 7am, the most filthy, faded, torn and disgusting bed linens and pillows. Delapidated rooms, rusty sink and bath water. What a horrible Hotel and one that I will write the Better Business Bureau to articulate my poor experience.

what happened on a week vacation.
I stayed at the hotel in 2003 was much nicer back then. The water slide is still in place for daring couples. our stay is an experience to tell but the staff is remarkable from front desk to custodials great job team. Ravi restaurant manager he was beyond call very efficient,wonderful ravi made sure our stay was well spent.The life guard was always by the slide which was mind resting great job Archie. pat at front desk and the other two front desk guys. Barry you have some wonderful staff hoping to see these guys on our next visit.My daughter, husband and myself we had an enjoyable vacation.

The Ac was loud and not cooling the room it smelt like old musty curtains. The room was clean but totally outdated the lack of technology old big back TV etc just killed the vibe. However the restaurant was excellent the food tasty and the servers get 5 stars.

Very old and outdated
This hotel was old, the sheets were dingy and dirty looking, the tub was broken up dirty, the entire room and everything in it was very old and untidy! Why must I leave my comfortable house to stay at an old hotel room?? The staff was helpful in no way, On arrival in the from I decided l was not going to stay the entire 4 nights, when I asked about a refund, up till now I haven't heard from the hotel and I left after one night. Really disappointing.

Service at its best
We visited to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is dated and needs work. However, we were thrilled at the personal touch we experienced. The Managing Director, Financial Director and the Food and Beverage Manager all come over to greet us and offer congratulations. We were gifted with a fruit basket and future breakfast for 2. Such a personal touch was exemplary and contributed to our enjoyment of a special celebration. Priceless memory!

Our 1st holiday
1st an Formost we where there for a wedding which was beautiful xx Then I have to commend the reception lady and the head chef we couldn't ask for more from them... The hotel is in need of renovating, and the chamber staff could do very well with renewed training in hospitality, management please address this so we can return!
