Déçue
Tres déçue de cet hôtel, c’était un objectif d’y séjourner un jour et je suis aller de déception en déception.. Traces de maquillage sur mes serviettes “propres”, taches sur les luminaires, pas de ménage le premier jour, room service fermé avant l’heure.. et le pire.. réveillée tout les matin a 8h00 maximum à cause de travaux sans avoir été ne serais ce que prévenue. Personnel moyennement sympathique..

Staff at check in are rude, bathroom was dirty when we first walked into the room, elevators are terrible, one has to wait for hours, old needs a renovation, hard to find the hotel restaurants, do not accept the “upgrade” because it’s a scam.

I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights. The service was impeccable. Staff is friendly and willing to help. The hotel is clean and walkable distance to restaurants.

This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful, though very busy location. The staff at the hotel is excellent. The property is a little dated, but it really isn’t an issue at all. The size of the rooms can’t be beat. We had a cathedral view, and it was stunning.

This was an OK experience. Rooms are very outdated, definitely don’t fell like 5 star hotel, more like 3 starts. Not pleasant to be in. But they were clean, and cleaning lady was very sweet. Restaurant was extremely expensive, breakfast for 8 (4 adults, 3 kids and a baby) was on average $600-800. Dinner consists only of appetizers, they tasted very good, but prices were way too high. Most Waiters were nice enough, but some were borderline rude. For example, I asked them to bring covered paper cups and straws for children’s drinks, and she said: “absolutely no.” It was so rude that I thought, she was joking. But she meant it, because she didn’t bring the cups. They serve croissants cold and juice is not freshly squeezed. For this price tag, we would expect to at least have a warm croissant. Other than that, the food quality was good enough, but nothing extraordinary. The restaurant is very gloomy and tables are uncomfortable. The first three floors of the building is a historic mansion, which was fascinating. Especially, we loved the old library, with very old books some from 17th century. Gym and spa area are nice. We didn’t like the location because it’s in the middle of all action, which normally would be a good thing, but in NYC it’s overwhelming. There were a lot of homeless persons/mentally ill people entering the hotel, wondering around, sitting there on chairs for a long time and it’s not well controlled. We would pick a calmer area for our next stay.

The staff is kind and approachable in every way. Compliments to them. While not grand, the common areas are comfortable and old school stylish. Our room on the 23rd floor was spacious by Manhattan standards. That being said, it’s in terrible need of a refurbishing. There was a pungent odor in the bathroom- moldy cheese and not in the good funky way. There are many better options at this price and below. If it weren’t for the location I’d probably knock it down a half star.

I would have given 5 stars but the bathroom tub did not drain so I was showering in a tub full of cold water and it was very slippery. The maid had to have seen the standing water always in the tub :(

The public areas were beautiful. We stayed in a double room. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable and the room was not in the best shape for such a highly rated hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.

This property is old and outdated. The staff is lovely but couldn’t make up for the small, stale outdated rooms. Truly two star at best. You can tell this hotel was something special 25 years ago. But for the price point currently, there are better options.
