“chelsea INN 17street entre 5 et 6eme ave NY”

Nous avons passé 9 nuits au chelsea Inn bon hôtel en général, réception tardive (arrivé à minuit) possibilité de laisser les bagages le dernier jour fourniture des serviettes de bains, sèche cheveux, frigo petit déjeuner très bon et compris dans le prix pour nous (thé, café, biscuit ....) très bien situé à 500m du flatiron, et plusieurs station de métro aux alentours (3 lignes) salle de bains communes pour 2 chambres, propre en fonction des autres occupants! seul inconvénients les chambres donnant sur la rue sont très bruyantes, (circulation, pompiers, éboueurs...) la climatisation est aussi bruyante. escalier pour accéder aux chambres est raide !!!! et ils répondent au mails rapidement pour toutes question

“Une étoile, et pourtant ....”

Petit Déjeuner de très bonne qualité, accueil super, situation dès plus sympathique. le seul point négatif pourrait être le bruit de la rue certain soir si vous avez le sommeil très très léger. Demander une chambre sur l'arrière.

“Would stay here again”

The friendly staff and excellent location are the best features of the Chelsea Inn. Our room was clean, and sharing a bathroom with the room next-door was OK. The drains in the sinks and tub ran very slow, but on our second day, someone had fixed the tub drain. A free breakfast is included which involves taking a meal voucher to the tiny bakery outside and below street level, where you get your choice of fruit or juice, a pastry, and excellent coffee. There's no seating, so you carry your breakfast back to your room. The staff will let your store your bags if you want to remain in NY past the check out time, which is noon. There's also free wifi and the inn is a short walk from a major subway station, shopping, Union Square and other attractions. There does not appear to be an elevator--at least, we were directed to a staircase to get to our 4th floor room--so if you have difficulty with mobility you might want to look elsewhere. There's a charming French cafe next-door as well. I would definitely stay here again.

“One slight step up from a hostel”

Kind of a dive. Really just a hostel. The staff were kind. But the rooms and the arrangements (i.e. sharing a bathroom with another room) were awkward and not at all worth the cost.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for its unfriendly and unhelpful staff.

“noisy neighborhood”

if you are a traveler who needs to sleep in a quiet room, i would not suggest you this hotel. the club in the neighborhood is quite noisy!i stayed there over the weekend and couldn't have good sleep at night. otherwise, chelsea inn is in a good area if you like arts.

“adequate hotel”

Chelsea Inn is an older hotel in a great location. Close to East Village, NYU, The New School. Comfortable bed, clean, friendly helpful front desk. No electrical outlets on bed side of wall so no bedside lighting. Shared bath was the main downside. I would go back for the great rates.

“A pretty good deal”

The winding stairs up to the room were a bit daunting at first, and the room seemed small with not a lot of lighting BUT....once over the initial reaction....it was actually a comfortable, quiet room and the shared bathroom (between two rooms) was always free and clean. The complementary breakfast was great! Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was made up every day. It was centrally located to subway, Felines Basement, Union Square etc which was handy. p.s. there were a few maintenance issues but they dealt with them quickly so we weren't inconvenienced.

“Neighbourhood gem”

The Chelsea Inn has a very convenient location to discover Manhattan. The staff was very helpful and nice, and the check-in went smoothly. The hotel does not have any elevator, so prepare for some luggage-lifting in the stairs. The room was good, yet had a sloppily installed a/c which let a lot of noise from outside into the room - and the Inn is on a very lively and well-frequented street with bars that are basically open all-night long, so it was a very noisy stay. The bathroom + shower was shared with one other room, but convenient. All in all, a good place to stay in Manhattan if you can live with a bit of noise (and NY prices).
